Rome-based company Emporio Elaborazioni introduces the “Mastino” (”Mastiff” in Italian), its new cafe racer based on a Yamaha XJR 1200. In order to obtain the sort of special cafe racer they had in mind out of the big XJR, the first thing they had to do was to reduce the overall weight of the bike, and so they got rid of everything that wasn’t really necessary, fine-tuning the remaining parts (namely engine and carburettors).

Then they added a few bits that were functional to their idea of a light, athletic and extreme cafe racer: enter the new fork, the Ohlins double rear shock, a 4-into-1 exhaust system courtesy of Vance & Hanes with Megaton end can. Yoke and lights are hand-made, the saddle comes from a Norton Manx, but the real masterpiece here is the fuel tank: it has been lifted from a Ducati Imola and boasts a see-through stripe on the side that allows the rider to check how much petrol is left into it. The unusual choice of colors adds up to the exclusivity of this bike, which also features a space in the saddle to accommodate a little whiskey bottle. Aesthetically speaking, it really is an eye candy.

Emporio Elaborazioni, or EE, is basically made of three friends that share the same passion for customized bikes, hence Cafe Racer, Scrambler, Dirties, Special and everything in between. Their production so far has been really interesting and we expect to see more specials like the Mastino to come out of their workshop. If you want to know more about this company, check out their official website.

Harley-Davidson enthusiast Jim Harrel always had a soft spot for trikes, but he had never thought about getting himself one until he got involved in a small accident. Interpreting that as a sign, he looked through the market of the three-wheeled vehicles to find something suitable to his taste, without success. The reason for that is simple: a trike just cannot lean while cornering, and so he teamed up with specialist Too Kool Cycles to make the Trike of his dreams, and the result is this TRT (Tilting Reverse Trike), a conversion kit that would turn any recent H-D tourer into a fully fledged Trike.

We have already seen Harley-Davidson Trikes in the past, some of which made by the Milwaukee-based manufacturer itself, but there are two features that makes the TRT kit stand out: it has the two wheels at the front (and not at the back) and yes, it can actually lean into corners, with an angle of 25 degrees. Moreover, it can be taken off the bike in a matter of hours - allowing the vehicle to go back to its original two wheels configuration at any time - and locks the bike vertically for speeds inferior to 10 km/h (6 mph). Also worth mentioning is the nice ‘nose’ placed in the middle of the axle, which is very reminiscent of the old racing cars of the 50s-60s.

The response to the model has been so overwhelming that Mr.Harrel and Too Kool Cycles decided to make their kit available on the market. The market of this kind of vehicles is definitely on the rise, and we are pretty sure that this product will be able to find its own space in it. At the moment there is not a definitive price for it, but it should end up being between 8,000 and 12,000 dollars.

Sitting amongst the sleek Italian racing bikes of MV Agusta, Ducati and Bimota and the super customized choppers in the year’s Motor Bike Expo is the the biggest motorcycle ever built, the XXL Chopper created by Italian company Regio Design.

Verona’s Motor Bike Expo kicked off this morning and one of the bikes that will be on display is this super sized chopper created by Regio Design.

It took a team of four guys and four months to complete this behemoth and try to beat the Guinness World Record for the largest motorcycle that is currently held by Greg Dunham who built his mega bike which is 3.429 meters tall, 6.187 meters long and weights 2.948 tonnes. Fabio Reggiani who is behind this Italian chopper says that Dunham’s bike “will look like a mini moto” compared to his.

This fully functional XXL chopper is equipped with tires that are over two meters in diameter and that are usually used on wheel tractor-scrapers, but other details will be revealed at the Expo.

Check out one of the making of videos after the jump:

I have to say I quite like lobster but it almost gives me the creeps seeing this motorcycle model made from lobster. The crayfish gets sculpted into a motorcycle by Huang Mingbo, who is described as a food carving artist. The funny motorcycle pics come from a seminar on cooking art in China and show the scale model right down to the last details including the wheel. At the very least we’re impressed by his efforts.

Earlier this month we reported that Colin Furze had attempted another Guinness World record by building and riding the longest motorbike, 72ft or 22mt whichever you prefer, because now it’s official as this nutty, but genial inventor has got the record in his pocket.

Check out the video of Furze and his latest creation in action and we can safely say that scooter must be a real bitch to take through a turn.

The saying idle hands are the devil’s tools certainly can’t be applied to Colin Furze, because the 31-year old plumber/inventor is back with another world record.

Furze, in 2008 broke the world record for the longest and ridable motorcycle that was 14 meters long, but now has taken it a very long step forward, by building in his mother’s bike yard, a 22 meter (72ft) long bike that seats 25.

Just like in 2008, he rode it on the runway at Saltby Airfield in Lincolnshire taking it to the top speed of 35mph, for almost a mile, but it wasn’t an easy feat according to the inventor, “When I first got on it I thought it would never work and at a slow speed it’s almost impossible to keep upright. But once you get going it becomes a bit easier, although it is a real strain on your arms as it has such heavy steering.” He also added, “This motorbike was so heavy and difficult to drive I think it would be impossible to make a longer bike. I think this record will stand for a very long time.”

The attempt is still pending verification by the Guinness World of Records.

You might be thinking this is a traditional method of removing a tooth by way of a motorcycle - that is by falling off without wearing a helmet. But this family decides to use a more innovative method, using a big sister, a string and a bike. We’re not sure that heaps can go wrong with this motorcycle stunt, but it seems a silly thing to do anyway and we’d prefer not to think about it. Of course, it’s all filmed by a loving and very sensible parent.

After knee down, elbow down, leg waving, the lastest rage in riding styles is getting your head down, and it looks like the Japanese fad has caught on. Check out how this dude in what looks like full camouflage gear does it at the 1.15 mark.

Do we have to really have mention the line that usually accompanies these types of stunts? We think not.

Vyacheslav Voronich is an avid motorcycle rider, but the Ukrainian biker got into the hobby of wood carving just a year ago and these are his fantastic results.

These handcrafted wooden models are in 1: 12 scale, and include a Honda CBR 1000RR, a Suzuki GSX-R600, three choppers of his own design and his latest work of art, the new BMW K 1600 GT/GTL.

Voronovich uses different types of wood (oak, beech, pine, ash or mahogany) for his models and basically uses a simple box cutter and hot wood bending method to turn out his work, admitting that the hardest part in carving is doing the tiny components like the handlebars, rear-view mirrors, gear shifters, turn signals, brake discs, because they often break before they’re finished.

The Reverend Ray Biddiss, 57 who is dubbed “Heaven’s Angel” hit the top speed of 114.1 mph with his £ 20,000 customised Triumph Rocket III engined moto-hearse, that he actually uses for funeral services. “This is for people who want to go out the way they lived” said Biddiss.
