The guys from Replica Race Helmets are building a site that brings together all the best race replica helmets that we’ve seen recently. Their idea is to put together a site with price comparisons and places where you can buy your favourite replica piece. So far, they’re featuring models like the Valentino Rossi 5 Continents, Jorge Lorenzo Evolution Helmet, the Suomy Fabrizio Replica Helmet (2011 model), the HJC Ben Spies Replica Helmet and heaps more.
They say:
Replica Race Helmets is a site devoted to aggregating the best race replica helmets from the worlds of MotoGP, World Superbikes, British Superbikes, AMA and more. We aim to show you the latest race replica helmets from the world of motorcycle racing and show you where you can get them online for the best prices.
So if you’re looking for an online resource for replica motorcycle helmets and where to get the prices, check out the Replica Race Helmet site.
The Harley-Davidson Pink Label clothing collection is for women and part of the proceeds of sales of this collection go to the US National Breast Cancer Association. So there’s no better way for biker girls to dress this summer. The collection includes a huge gear range for women of Harley-Davidson leather jackets, activewear pants and hooded jumpers, knitted tops and t-shirts and a range of technical accessories including a classic jet helmet, gloves, scarfs and neck warmers.
There are even a couple of Pink Label accessories for guys who want to support the women in their lives affected by cancer. Otherwise, for men this year, Harley-Davidson has a Black Label Collection this year with a modern slim fit style but a cool vintage look. The classic Black Label leather jacket is available along with check shirts and caps. See the Harley-Davidson site for more, or for online orders.

How to Avoid Skinning Yourself Alive - Brittany Morrow from Brittany Morrow on Vimeo.
Every one know how important and life saving wearing helmets is, but it can never be stressed enough how important it is to also wear safety gear and how it can save you from some permanent damage and scaring.
South Australia’s Gear Up commercial starring Mick Doohan was one of best ads around promoting the use of motorcycle safety gear, but this video by Brittany Morrow who runs Rock the Gear really hits closer to home.
Check out the video and see why Ms. Morrow has become an advocate for promoting safety gear, and kudos to the lady for showing what most women would never have the courage to show.

Alpinestars started experimenting an airbag system back in 2003 with John Hopkins, and then Casey Stoner, Ben Spies, Mika Kallio and Dani Pedrosa all began wearing data logging suits to help Alpinestars come up with the new Tech Air electronic airbag system, which is targeted for production for June of this year.
Since the idea of making the use of airbag leathers mandatory from 2012 in Grand Prix racing, and Repsol Honda and Alpinestars have decided to explain how the leathers that their riders Casey Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa wear, actually work (but if you click on the Tech Air link above you, can see a video of the suit inflating).
Press release:
“Rider safety is of paramount importance and all three Repsol Honda Riders are equipped with state-of-the-art technology in the form of Alpinestars Tech Air electronic airbag system.

Safety has become the priority in MotoGP and now Dorna is thinking of making air bag leathers for all riders and racing bikes have some sort off front brake lever protection made mandatory by 2012.
Apparently Dorna has already instated a special commission that is in talks with both Dainese and Alpinestars, top motorcycle apparel leaders, who supply the majority of GP riders and have been experimenting on track for the last couple of years with some excellent results (just ask Valentino Rossi and Marco Simoncelli about their Dainese suits) with their relative D-Air Technology and Electronic Airbag Technology.
While front brake protections have been talked about for years, especially after the 2006 Barcelona GP, when Sete Gibernau accidently clipped Loris Capirossi’s front brake and sent off a chain reaction of horrific crashes.
Several teams have tried to adopt some sort of lever protection (this photo shows what was on Randy de Puniet’s RC212V when he was racing for LCR Honda) but many riders are still reluctant to use anything, as they think their hand could remain trapped when they crash out and suffer a more severe injury, so there is talk of making a bigger and more covering front fairing.

This video interview from Dainese was probably filmed during Nicky Hayden’s appearance at the Dainese and AGV Press Day at the D-Store in Costa Mesa, California, in earlier this year, before the start of the season.
Hayden talks about how important his riding gear is, Dainese’s D-Air leathers, the GP11 tweaks and team mate Valentino Rossi. Too bad that the interviewer doesn’t remember that Ducati HQ is in Bologna and Dainese is located in Vicenza.
Alpinestars continues to promote their riders, but we found this video on the Ben Spies Official Italian fan club website, that let’s us get an even closer look at the American MotoGP rider.
It gives a little more insight on how he disconnects from the pressure of racing by riding a bicycle, it also gives a look at his home in Texas and very impressive full trophy room, but more than anything we love the fact that he’s got Pirsig’s ‘Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintence’ and the Matt Stone’s ‘McQueen’s Machines: The Cars and Bikes of a Hollywood Icon’ on his coffee table. That makes for one very cool motorcycle racer.

The Ducati Diavel is ignoring the skepticism of Italian Ducati fans and has turned up in some swanky Mercedes stores across the country. None other than Milan’s Vittorio Emanuele gallery is home to the Diavel, which is also housed in the Mercedes-Benz Spot in Rome’s Piazza San Silvestro.
The Ducati Corse and Ducati 46 accessories will also debut today alongside the AMG Selection line and while the usual merchandising is on show, seeing a Mercedes SLS and a Ducati in the same spot does produce a certain effect. Check it out in the pics.
Alpinestars has released another of their Beyond the Riders videos, and after the interviews with reigning MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo, this time it’s with his Yamaha team mate Ben Spies.
Who would have expected that the apparently calm and collected, super cool Spies used to have temper tantrums as a kid? So we might be guessing that it was his parents who actually gave him the nick name ‘Texas Terror’ for the first time.

Alpinestars’ Beyond The Riders: Dovizioso-Stoner-Pedrosa from Alpinestars USA on Vimeo.
After Jorge Lorenzo’s in-depth interview, Alpinestars has gotten three of the more reluctant and shyest MotoGP riders to talk about themselves, which certainly was no mean feat.
Andrea Dovizioso, Dani Pedrosa, and Casey Stoner all give you some insight on how very deep their love of racing runs inside them, besides telling us what their favourite circuit, favourite corner and favourite race and why.
