Harley Davidson after facing third quarter profit drops, announced back in October, that they were killing off the production of Buell motorcycles and were going divest itself of the MV Agusta Group that they bought in 2008 for $109 million and many wondered what would happen to one of Italy’s most historic marques, especially in a down trodden economic market.

According to the well informed motociclismo.it HD may have found someone to buy out their stake in the MV Agusta and one of the companies could be BMW, who so far has neither confirmed or denied their interest and the second could be a consortium of Italian entrepreneurs led by Mario Moretti Polegato, founder and president of the Geox Group, who is best know in the footwear and apparel market.

The announcement of the sale of MV Agusta could come as early as the end of March.

When they say that daredevils and stunt riders have balls of steel, this isn’t always true, at least anatomically.

Check out this video of Crusty Demon legend Seth Enslow who made history by setting a new world record for a longest distance jump on a Harley Davidson XR 1200.

Enslow performed the jump at Barangaroo, located at the Sydney Harbor and broke the exsisting record by 18 feet (5,4m) jumping 183.7 feet (56m) but had to make the same jump twice after most of the media turned up late and in the second jump cracked his gas tank and not only that.

This Harley Davidson special has been created by Storz Performance and is based on the XR1200. Aside from its great looks, the main achievement here is the weight reduction with 15 kg being shaved off the original weight.

The XR1200 Storz Performance was completed by Steve Storz, the head of the company, and has been updated with new suspension, wheels, brakes, exhaust, handle bars and seat. The wheel rims have a gold finish, the shock absorbers are in aluminium, and the spokes have a polished stainless steel finish. The front upside-down fork is from Storz/Ceriani.

Storz has described his XR1200 as “Clubman Style”, meaning less dirt track looks than the original. It’s certainly an eye-catching special with an impressive makeover. For more information on this and other Storz products, see the Storz Performance website.

You’ve all seen in Youtube or in live shows, two or more riders spinning in perfect synchronization inside the steel grids of the Globe of Death and usually they use light weight modified bikes, but this is the first time according Quick-Fix Harley Mildura Australia that it has been done by a rider on a Harley Davidson Sportster.

Quick Fix Harley Davidson Mildura are the same guys who prepared Kain Saul’s Harley Davidson XR1200 Sportster for the first ever backflip on a HD.

Robbie Knievel has announced that he will attempt to jump over 16 buses, June 12th 2010 in London.

Robbie 47, will be using a Harley Davidson XR- 750, the same motorcycle model his father Evel Knievel used in his failed attempt at Wembley Stadium in 1975, but he’ll be trying to jump16 buses, 3 more that his father tried to do. The current record is 15 buses held by stuntman Bubba Blackwell.

On May 25th 1975, Robbie’s legendary father took to Wembley to jump over 13 buses and crashed in front of an audience of 90,000, breaking his pelvis that almost ended his career, but Evel was back jumping just five months after the accident.

“I always wanted to do the Wembley jump that my dad attempted and failed. Daredevils are a dying breed. I’m proud to have been raised by one and to be one myself.”

If you’re in Forbes World’s Richest People List, you could take in consideration buying this motorcycle with matching yacht, that could be yours for just $22.66 million or £14.2 million.

The motorcycle is a customized Harley-Davidson Rocker with a cleaned up frame and hand fashioned fenders and fuel tank built by German bike builders House of Thunder and comes with its own 45m trans-oceanic yacht from Sunrise Yachts in Turkey, making it the most expensive motorcycle in the world.

The yacht sports a small rear garage, which can house a rescue-boat, two jet skis and the Rocker which has a matching paint job with the boat. The chopper also features a foldable handlebar so it can been easily stored in the garage.

For the rest of us plebs, we’ll just sit here and turn green with envy.

No one really associates Harley Davidson as a true stunt bike, but in this case we have two different riders on two different continents backflipping a Harley XR-1200.

Australasian Freestyle Motocross Champion Kain Saul did one in Australia and pro motocross rider Chuck Carothers did another in Prague during the Gladiator Games. Both completed the stunts on 580lbs (263kg) Harley XR1200’s, but apparently there’s some controversy regarding who can claim the record, because Saul’s Harley was modified by Quick-Fix Harley Davidson dealer principal Gavin Walker, while Carothers did it on a stock XR-1200 with only a stiffened up suspension, but fell off after landing.

Not everyone in the world can afford a US made Harley Davidson or a mean looking customized chopper but would like to ride something that looks vaguely similar, so China’s Rhone Motorcycle company has come up with this essential looking chopper called the Heist 200.

Seen at this year’s EICMA show, the Heist 200 is a simple 4 stroke air cooled 200cc bike, but a 250cc model is also available and according to the specs it’s able to hit a maximum speed of 88 km/h.

The company website says they export all over the world and they’re certified ISO9001 and 3C, DOT, EPA and EEC.
