Some good things are on the way with the Alpinestars 2010 spring range, starting with the “Calgary” jacket. It’s made from waxed cotton and has more pockets than you’ll ever need, both inside and out, and has an adjustable waist. Incorporated are elbow and shoulder protectors. The Calgary jacket comes in black in sizes from S-XXXXL.

Also new for 2010 is the Bullit men’s leather jacket, making simplicity very sexy. It’s available in white, black or brown and while it looks minimalist, you can still house back and chest protectors if required. It has in-built shoulder and elbow padding, and both exterior and interior pockets.

Other additions to the Alpinestars range include the Tech 8 boot, the Tech 1-R race suit, Stella Georgia ladies jacket, Velocity men’s leather jacket and Afrika Gore-Tex boots. The 2010 Suomy range of jackets includes new models, Nesso and Tremezzo. The Nesso jacket, which also has its partner Comacina jacket made specifically for female riders, is made from nylon and has reflective inserts for safety. It has removable padding on the shoulders, elbows and forearms, and a removable inner lining for all-season use. The Nesso or Comacina jacket is available in black and in sizes 46 to 58 for men (European sizing, and for women from S to XL. No pricing is available yet.

The Tremezzo is also a new jacket for 2010, called Piona for female riders. It’s a leather jacket with shoulder, elbow and forearm removable protection, external zip pockets and removable inner lining. It has adjustable straps for the waist and wrists and a joining zip to attach trousers if needed. It comes in black and white or black and grey, in the same sizes as above. This fantastic video shows Armadillo scooterwear in more than just a simple motorcycle commercial. It’s the perfect video for a motorcycle gear brand that calls itself “armadillo”, and it certainly makes scootering look edgy and fun. Armadillo deals with clothing, which we see put to the test in these Vespa stunts as the guy goes blasting through fire and glass.

The video was made by Stink Films, which even got itself a Cannes Festival prize this year. Armadillo scooterwear includes some very cool stuff (I’m quite taken with the red mackintosh myself), all of it featuring body armour just in case you are “tough enough” for city scooter riding. Marlon Brando as Johnny in The Wild One has given us one of the most iconic motorcycle images ever. The dapper hat pushed sideways is accompanied by a classic leather jacket in a time of post-war rebellion.

The image is being recreated by Triumph Motorcycles in a clothing collection featuring a leather jacket with “Johnny” embroidered on the front and emblanzoned on the reverse the letters BRMC with the skull and crossbones underneath. The remake is aimed at anyone who ever thought Brando in his role as Johnny Strabler.

The special edition Triumph Brando jacket has been made with official copyright permission. It is 100 percent leather with a fitted cut and has removable CE shoulder and elbow padding. An internal thermal lining can also be removed. The Wild One jacket costs about 400 euros.

The new Vespa clothing line for summer has been released in the legendary “Vespa Servizio” line with hooded pullovers and logos. The Vespa Servizio logo was originally used out the front of official service providers for repairs and maintenance.

The new Vespa apparel is designed for both men and women with the hooded tops in primary colours and designer t-shirts. The range has a vintage touch with hooded sweatshirts costing 70 euros and the tees priced at 33 euros. For the guys the hooded pullover costs 74 euros. Universal Designs has developed Batman motorcycle leathers in occasion of the San Diego Comic-Con event this week. The Batsuit leathers look accurate and are actually functional, though they don’t include cape and helmet (we recommend care with the cape lest it become an Isadora scarf…).

The Batsuit motorcycle leathers are an exact replica of Bruce Wayne’s costume in “The Dark Knight”. The kevlar-leather suit includes jacket, pants, boots and gloves, with new set of abs and ninja arm weapons included.

If you’re planning on attending the comic strip event dressed as Batman, we suggest the Batcycle as your chosen form of transport. It might be expensive, but if you’re a die-hard fan, authenticity has its price.

AXO has released its summer clothing range, with the Cyclone jacket and Chill suit. The range is ideal for summer, offering both cooler wear and waterproofing technology.

The Chill jacket and pants are made from Nylon PU fabric with elastic inserts. The entire material is anti-perspirant and anti-bacterial, and the jacket has an internal windproof vest. Protection is included on shoulders, elbows and the back, with the Back Protector CE removable. The jacket has two external pockets and two internal ones.

The name gives it a kind of Charlie’s Angels or James Bond feel, but Electra is actually the new women’s motorcycle jacket from IXON. It’s made from Spylex fabric (a robust synthetic material) with Mesh inserts for breathable qualities.

The Ixon Electra women’s jacket has mircopeach collar, shaped sleeves, lower back reinforcements, and side adjustments with zip. Other features include velcro wrist straps, arm adjustments and Riplan reinforced arms. Two side pockets with zip closure and three internal pockets give you plenty of little spots to carry your stuff.

Two removable linings are available: one is waterproof, the other is a winter lining. CE Arron elbow and shoulder protections are included and an adaptable back armour can also be included.

The new Brema Moto jacket, the B 403 W LOGO is part of the spring-summer 2009 Brema collection. It contains four pockets and is completely waterproof, including an internal waterproof membrane.

Reflective features are included, in addition to the “36″ Brema brand logo in reflective materials on the sleeves. The jacket includes removable internal vest and has shoulder and elbow padding. It also has space for back protection.
