Peugeot Kisbee 50 scooter

posted by Alison in: Scooters Peugeot

Peugeot Kisbee 50 4T 2010

Another scooter for 2010 is the new Peugeot Kisbee 50, with four-stroke engine and low-wheel format. It’s designed as a scooter with low fuel consumption, for general city riding, but with acceptable performance.

It has 3.67 hp on the 50 cc engine, and with the Kisbee weighing just 85 kg, this is snappy enough for urban traffic conditions and the daily commute. The seat is wide and comfortable, and the space underneath can house a full face helmet. The flat foot area makes for further storage space for additional baggage.

The wheels measure 12-inches, and the Kisbee has a telescopic fork at the front and simple, single-shock absorber at the rear. The brakes have a single front disc measuring 170 mm and a rear drum brake. Colours include black, blue, white and orange (I’m very taken with the latter) you certainly won’t find yourself riding around in the dark with the prominent front headlights.

The seat is 780 mm off the ground, looking to find middle ground for taller and shorter riders without having to include a lower seat as an option. The ignition is electric but there is an additional kick starter in case of emergency, which is a nice touch for a four-stroke scooter.

Peugeot Tweet scooters especially for women

posted by Alison in: Scooters Peugeot For the girls

Peugeot Tweet 2010

Another 2010 scooter offering is the Peugeot Tweet model. Offered in three versions: 50 cc, 125 cc and 150 cc, it is young and modern looking scooter, specifically aimed at women for easy city riding. The Peugeot Tweet models are based on the Sym Symphony technical platform, but have different design.

The Tweet models are another high wheel offering on the market, with 16-inch wheels, front telescopic and twin shock absorbers at the rear (single shock absorbers appear on the 50cc). All models have a front brake disc measuring 226 m, while the 50 cc model has a rear drum brake. For a rough idea of weight, the 125 cc model tips the scales at 109 kg.

While I love a retro look on a scooter, the modern style of Tweet has been designed well, with chrome features, and slender, elegant look. Quality finishes are guaranteed with double stitching around the seat, spacious under-seat storage, flat foot area and large square headlight with v-shaped Peugeot badge and indicator lights.

Peugeot e-Vivacity hybrid in "a scooter a day" part two

posted by Alison in: Scooters Peugeot

Peugeot e-Vivacity scooter

The Peugeot e-Vivacity electric scooter concept was at the EICMA 2009 show, and if all goes to plan it will debut on the market in 2011. The e-Vivacity is a 50cc electric scooter using lithium ion battery technology.

It’s another example of just how far motorcycling is coming in terms of electric technology, especially in the scooter segment. The Peugeot e-Vivacity has power of about 4000W and a comfortable range of approximately 100 km.

The e-Vivacity batteries take about four hours to recharge, separated into two hours of actual recharging and another two hours to ensure the batteries will run at maximum efficiency. In what’s a first for me, because a lot of companies don’t do this, Peugeot has released figures that indicate battery life. It’s a good thing because often it isn’t concerns about range, but about battery life and cost that don’t get people on board with hybrid technology.

Peugeot BB1 based on motorcycle

posted by Alison in: Peugeot

Peugeot BB1 Concept

The Peugeot BB1 Concept looks more like a car than a motorcycle, but its technological inspiration in fact comes from the latter. The handle bars are pure motorcycle style, and the wheel axes are put together in such a way as to reflect the bicycle motif carried out in the video after the jump.

The roof solar panels indicate hybrid or electric technology, while the rear passenger seats surely take a leaf from the motorcycle book, too. The rear window is done in a panoramic style and on the whole, this is one very intriguing concept car from Peugeot. We’d be happy to see more cross technology in the future from the French company. The video is from the guys at Motosblog.fr.

Peugeot RD megalopolis concept at Shanghai

posted by Alison in: Engineering Peugeot

Peugeot RD Concept a Shanghai

At the Beijing motor show last year, Peugeot presented a competition for car designers, to create a Peugeot prototype adapted to megalopolis cities. With more than 2,500 entries, the winner of this extraordinary competition was Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar, 27 years old, from Colombia.

Using Tovar’s design as a base, Peugeot has since produced a model of the vehicle designed, in the same scale planned for the transport. Looking like an offroad trike, the vehicle would have one driver, three wheels, and the possibility of bending itself around corners, like a motorcycle or a scooter, but with the safety of a car.

The only engine foreseen for such a model, given the brief of the competition, is an electric engine. The concept, called RD, is currently on show at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show.

Nuovi disegni dello scooter ibrido a tre ruote Peugeot

In these pics you can see the hybrid, three-wheel scooter presented by Peugeot at the Eicma show. Models such as these could become a new alternative in urban, ecological vehicles.

The main characteristic of this scooter is the all-wheel drive on three wheels. The thermal 125cc engine has Satelis Compressor and produces 15kw (20hp) from the rear wheel.

There are two 3kw electric engines situated near the front wheels, which are equipped with lithium ion batteries that are rechargeable in deceleration. The cooperation between the two engines is electronically controlled by the “By Wire” system.
