Certain Valentino Rossi fans haven’t wasted a moment since his Ducati Desmosedici GP11 livery was unveiled last week amidst pomp and fanfare.
This Yamaha T-Max 500 owned by Adriano, who is a Rossi super fan or a yellow muppet as many will start calling him, has already transformed his mega scooter’s livery into coloured copy of the Ducati GP11. This fan also reports that he always changes the livery on his scooters to whatever Rossi uses.

Remember Jonathan Rea’s crash during race 1 at Monza (video of the crash after the jump) where he couldn’t find his Honda CBR 1000RRand began searching for it in the gravel trap?
The bike landed over the tire barrier and could have been taken directly to the local scrap yard, as you see from this pic by Andrea.

Grand Prix Moto2 has been criticized for it’s 40 rider strong grid, but the 74th Edition of the Bol d’Or at the Magny-Cours Nevers circuit saw 57 teams lined up for this weekend’s round of the World Endurance championship.
This spectacular crash happened at the start of the race that involved the #55 Honda of National Motos, the #96 of Qatar Endurance Racing Team and Serbian Racing Team Djamants, the incident saw the Safety Car brought in.
National Motos rider Sébastien Scarnato suffered hip and shoulder injuries, and could not bring the Honda back into the pits and the team had to pull out, as did the QERT team who had their bike was destroyed, but fortunately the rider was okay.
The Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) with Vincent Philippe, Guillaume Dietrich and Freddy Foray are currently leading the race and you can check out the live timing here.

Ian Wheeler is the Communications Manager for the Marc VDS Racing Team that fields Scott Redding and Hector Faubel in Moto2 and took this photo at the International Guiglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna of a very touching and simple tribute to Shoya Tomizawa that was put up by some fans of the Japanese rider.
Scott Redding was the other rider involved in Tomizawa’s tragic crash and he was very lucky to escape serious injury and received ten stitches in a laceration to his back.

This ‘go back home’ comic piece from the guys at Motoblog show the patriotic sentiment many had when MV Agusta returned to Italian ownership recently. Harley-Davidson basically paid Claudio Castiglioni to take back his brand only two years after Castiglioni had sold it to the Americans. During the HD management of the company, MV Agusta released its 2010 Brutale 990r, the new Brutale 1090rr and the MV Agusta F4.
While the company now needs to continue development of the new F3 prototype (which we might see at the 2010 EICMA show), it certainly managed to cover its debts during the Harley-Davidson purchase, then being paid a second time to take it back with losses all round for the American company. For more on the history of Castiglioni and MV Agusta, check out the great little time line Hell for Leather put together.
So while we’re enjoying the last throws of summer in Europe and hopefully we’ll get another few months of riding in yet, this photo is a reminder of what can happen when you leave your summer alpine motorcycle excursion to late. This group of intrepid Italians took to the legendary Stelvio Pass, only to find it got a little chilly up there.

We all know Aussies love a good ‘barbie’, but this effort to pick up a used one is perhaps going too far. This funny motorcycle pic shows Michael Wiles riding along Melbourne’s Eastern freeway, looking through the grill of a barbecue he picked up off the side of the road. On another motorist snapping the picture and publishing in the media, Wiles has been charged with careless driving and fined $800 AUD (about 550 euros).
Wiles had seen the abandoned barbecue on the nature strip, and needing one at home, decided to try to get it there on his motorcycle. Apparently the barbecue was a ‘dud’ and from what we know of them, that seems to be evident from the picture - or why was it abandoned in the first place? (Wiles is a New Zealander anyway, so maybe he didn’t know…).
Meanwhile, the court magistrate issuing the fine was more than a little surprised about the case before him. According to court reports, it could only be described as ridiculous and even lead to discussions of what objects are carried around on motorcycles in countries such as Vietnam. Wiles has since declined an offer to participate in advertising for the retail chain, Barbecues Galore.
This beautifully restored Moto Guzzi Airone 250 Turismo is enjoying an aperitif to celebrate its scrub-up. The bike was restored by a doctor who loves to get his hands on any Guzzi needing a restoration job. The Airone 250 Turismo models were produced between 1939 and 1957 and are considered one of the bikes of Italian history. So here’s a little piece of nostalgia in the middle of a living room.

While we were more or less falling asleep with the MotoGP race at Brno, the AMA Pro Racing Daytona Sportbike series had this thrilling end to their race 1 at the Virginia International Raceway on Saturday.
Bobby Fong #30 on his Ducati 848 vs Martin Cardenas #36 on his Suzuki GSX-R600. The pair crossed the line side by side with Fong declared the winner by 0.001 of a second, that even with this photo finish shot makes it hard to decide who actually won.
We’re glad that we weren’t in AMA Pro Road Racing Race Director David McGrath shoes when he had to make this solomonic decision.
