Triumph 1600 Thunderbird Cafe Racer

posted by Alison in: Special Triumph

Triumph Thunderbird Cafe Racer

Take a look at this Triumph Thunderbird 1600 in café racer guise. The bike has been put together by Swede Sivert Raask from Raask accessories specialist, and has a new tank, seat and fairing. The exhaust has also been given an overhaul.

Raask has also built café racer versions of the Bonneville and Rocket III and thought the Thunderbird would equally lend itself to a few modifications. The tank comes from a Ducati 900 and the seat is all home-made. A new speedometer and rearsets have also been fitted. The Triumph Thunderbird 1600 Café Racer is the latest in Raask’s career, which first started back in 1967 with the rebuilding of a Norton Atlas.

2010 Triumph Daytona 675 SE more pics

As spring approaches in the northern hemisphere, motorcycling this season is looking exciting as consumers are spoiled for choice with the bikes on offer. If you’re in the market for a new motorcycle, unless you’re a die-hard fan of a particular brand, quite frankly we don’t know how you’re going to choose. Here are more pics of the 2010 Triumph Daytona 675 SE, although it has already been criticised for its less elegant graphics than previous models.

The Triumph Daytona 675 SE for 2010 has a few new features including carbonfibre elements, racing brakes and clutch, and fully adjustable suspension. It will cost about 11,840 euros (about 250 more than the standard version) and will be produced in a limited edition only.

2010 Triumph Daytona 675 SE

Triumph Daytona 675 SE 2010

Here’s a gallery dedicated to the new 2010 Daytona 675 SE. The livery is the same as the 2009 Daytona 675: Pearl White and Sparkle Blue, while new graphics appear, along with a white line around the black wheels for a more aggressive look. The “racing” brakes and clutch have been developed from the Supersport Daytona 675 version, and are included on this 2010 special edition.

Carbonfibre appears under the tail part of the bike to separate the seat from the exhaust, and more carbon finishes can be found at the front ‘cockpit’ and the rear mudguard. Suspension is fully adjustable, with setting changes permitted both at low and high speeds. The 675cc engine has nearly 128 hp at 12,600 rpm, which is something to compete with.

The 2010 Daytona 675 SE will be produced in a limited series and will cost about 11,840 euros. That’s 250 euros more than the standard version. A long list of accessories is available with everything from carbonfibre parts to racing pedals on offer. Other features available are the Quickshifter electronic shift, the Arrows exhaust and Ohlins suspension.

More pics of Revolutionary Road from TPR Italian factory

revolutionary road tpr

We’ve already seen the TpR Triumph special a couple of times, but apparently the real name of this urban scrambler from the TpR Italian Factory is “Revolutionary Road” and you can see it in these live pics from the Motor Bike Expo, from the guys at Motoblog.it. TpR came about in 2009 and it’s off to a good start with this lovely bike.

The bike has been developed via Pietro Figini’s love of British bikes and his desire to create a completely custom-built Triumph. The TpR Revolutionary Road can personalised in many ways - from the seat to the wheels, and you can even get carbon fibre parts if you want a lighter model. See it live in this gallery.

Urban Scrambler by TpR

The Triumph Urban Scrambler by TPR is getting the attention it deserves, being picked up on MCN and TopSpeed, and here we show the first pics we posted back in May last year. It’s an interesting bike with plenty of both English and Italian pedigree from TPR. It was re-made by Pietro Figini, who has a passion for British bikes, and whose father was famous for restoring old Vespas.

With 75 hp on 180 kg, this is a bike which is not only gorgeous, but that would also have a respectable road presence in terms of power and speed. See below for more pics and the technical specs. An additional bit of news since May is that prices start from about 14,000 euros. If you want to know more, it’s well worth a visit to the TPR site.

Super Rat Triumph Cafe Racer: custom-built Triumph Trident

posted by Alison in: Custom/cruiser Special Video Triumph

Super Rat Triumph Cafe Racer

Here’s a look at the Super Rat Triumph Cafe Racer, based on an early 70’s Triumph Trident, which has apparently created some controversy due to its mandrel bent oil tank feature. The project started off with a Trident engine that needed to be rebuilt, and the frame of a 70’s Trident. The whole process involved digging out old “how to” books from the 70’s and a whole lot of technical creativity. See how they did it in the “making of” movie after the jump (auto play). For more pics, see de Rosa photography.

Triumph Street Triple R superbike one-make Parkingo European Series

posted by Alison in: Naked Triumph

Triumph Street Triple R

Not strictly one of the best bikes for 2010, the Triumph Street Triple R has, however, won “bike of the year” 2009 in more than one country. Its 675 cc engine could have something to do with that, but overall we understand that this is one very fun bike to ride. The Street Triple R now has its own superbike one-make series with the ParkinGo European Series.

The races will take place on Superbike Sundays, between the first and second round of the race and will involve about 24 riders at the following Superbike rounds: Valencia, Assen, Monza, Misano, Brno, Donington, and Nurburgring.

The series has European championship status and the winner will compete at the final round of the 2010 Supersport World Championship on a Triumph Daytona 675 from BE1 Racing. For more information, see the Parkingo European Series website.

TL-675 by LSL

This Triumph Street Triple special version has been built by LSL - a specialist German Triumph tuning company. LSL supports the Street Triple Cup and the TL-675 is inspired by their 126 hp racing version of the Street Triple.

The TL-675 is a road model with 115 hp, new fairing, adjustable levers, a GSX-R 750 fork and Ohlins rear suspension. It weighs 190 kg and will cost about 16,000 euros. The colour scheme is inspired by the P-51 Mustang from the Second World War. To see more of LSL tuning and design, check out their website at www.lsl-motorradtechnik.de.
