MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa's real life (video)

posted by Adrian in: Personalities Video Honda Moto GP

How do you think a MotoGP top rider like Dani Pedrosa relax? Which sort of sports do you think he practices to stay fit? And what about his hobbies? Answers to these questions and many more are being provided by the rider himself during this pretty interesting video released by the main sponsor of the Honda MotoGP team, Spanish oil and gas company Repsol.

This footage was recorded during the last winter in Switzerland, where the Spanish star has been living for quite a few years, and it is Pedrosa himself explaining the reasons behind this choice as well as introducing the viewers to the sort of life-style he carries when ‘off duty’. Given the discrete and silent nature f the character involved, this clip turns out to be quite revealing of Pedrosa’s habits and general attitude toward life.

From the pretty Swiss town Prangins, the diminutive Repsol Honda rider explains how he finds the right balance necessary to relax between races in this small town with just 4,000 inhabitants facing the Lake Geneva. Pedrosa is pictured while carrying on pretty ‘regular’ activities such as cycling, buying bred at the shop, having fun with the PlayStation and going out for a quiet eve with his friends. Definitely an interesting watch.

BMW G 650 GS Sertao 2012 (videos)

posted by Adrian in: Enduro Offroad Video Bmw

Here are three pretty interesting videos (see the other two after the ‘jump’) starring the new BMW G 650 GS Sertao 2012, which is already available in the showrooms of the German manufacturer. The latest enduro bike from BMW uses the same 652 cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine of the standard G650GS, credited with an output of 48 hp at 6,500 rpm and 60 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. Other highlights of this model include electronic fuel injection, twin spark ignition, a three-way catalytic converter, a 21″ spoked wheel at the front as well as a longer travel suspension and stiffer settings that make it decidedly more ‘off-road’ oriented than its standard counterpart.

The Sertão is pretty sleek and agile, features that suit the riding standing on the pegs that is typical of the offroad use. Weighing in at just 192 kg and with a pretty low fuel consumption (rated at 3.2 l/100km), this bike turns out to be the ideal choice for those who are new to off-road riding Besides, there is also a reduced power version of this model delivering 34 hp at 6,500 rpm and 47 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm.

The standard G 650 GS Sertão can be enhanced with a slew of accessories: disengageable BMW Motorrad ABS (priced at 405 €), hazard warning flashers, heated grips, DWA alarm system and even a charging socket. Needless to say, a number of cases and case holders are also available in the list of optional extras that BMW offers for this model.

Video: Jakub Kornfeil almost makes it at Jerez

Jakub Kornfeil(almost) the save of the century… di Matthew_Guerrero_2

Moto3 at Jerez was so packed with crashes that it was almost impossible to follow the names of riders who got caught out by wet patches, but this ‘almost’ save at turn 13 by Redox-Ongetta-Centro Seta’s Jakub Kornfeil would have probably been added to the book of ‘amazing saves,’ if only his FTR Honda hadn’t slipped on the slick and wet astroturf as he attempted to rejoin the race and taking out an unfortunate Brad Binder along with him.

The model is powered by a 1,199 cc in-line two with a a compression ratio of 11.0:1 that is credited with an output of 110 hp and 114 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. posted by Adrian in: News Bike freaks Video Ktm

Slovenian freestyler Rok Bagoros has a brand new toy to play with: after stunning the international crowds on the KTM Duke 125, the skillful 22 years old has now recived from personal sponsor KTM a special 690 Duke stunt factory bike that will soon become part of his show. All Rok needs to do now is get acquainted with the new machine: take a look at the video above and at the photo gallery to see him in action on th new machine.

There’s a BIG difference between the two bikes - Mr.Bagoros said - The bike has five times more power then the Duke 125 and any mistake can result in a crash, as I’ve already discovered. The bike has amazing power but I’m slowly getting it under control. I have to remember that this is my first big stunt bike and so I have to learn how to handle the extra power and convert it into spectacular tricks that will be fun to do and thrilling for the fans.

The move doesn’t mean that the 125 Duke is now going to collect dust in Rok’s garage: the talented stunt rider will in fact use both bikes in his show to make it more exciting, more noisy and more spectacular than ever. His new 690 Duke was especially tuned for stunt riding at the KTM headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria, and comes with a number of special features that you can read after the jump.
