Marco Melandri special edition helmet for quake victims

Marco Melandri will be debuting this particular helmet design for his home race at Misano Adriatico during this weekend’s sixth round of the World Superbike championship.

This special edition Nolan X-Lite X-802 lid, created in collaboration with Max Design, shows Melandri’s passion for the sea, and you can notice also a small nod towards Walt Disney’s 1989 animation movie, The Little Mermaid.

The helmet will be auctioned off at the end of the Misano round with proceeds going to the victims of the recent earthquakes that have hit Italy (another 4.5 quake was registered of the coast of Melandri’s home town of Ravenna on Wednesday) and the replica version will be part of Nolan’s 2013 collection.
