Completely different weather conditions met the Moto3 riders for this afternoon’s second free practice at Silverstone, while the session was declared wet at the start due to a few drops of rain, the practice was actually sunny and dry, but very windy however that didn’t stop standings leader Sandro Cortese from taking the top of the charts and then better himself again in his final flying lap and finally stop the clock in 2:19.063 and shaving off another a tenth of a second.

JHK Laglisse Efren Vazquez who was third fastest in this morning’s wet session moved up a spot after swapping the top spot with Cortese to take second ahead of Team Italia FMI’s Romano Fenati in his second ever session on the British circuit. The Italian was +0.465s from Cortese after his crash earlier in the day.

Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Alex Rins was 4th with his Suter Honda, while Maverick Vinales took the fifth spot and Danny Kent who headed the charts in FP1 fell to sixth with Louis Rossi behind the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider. Luis Salom was eighth and Alberto Moncayo and Alexis Masbou closed out the top ten.

Two riders crashed early on Ivan Moreno and John McPhee (in his second GP wildcard appearance) while Adrian Martin and Niklas Ajo had their best times cancelled after cutting the turn in the last sector.
