A hearing by the FIM International Disciplinary Court was held today at the Assen circuit regarding the controversial Moto2 Catalunya race incident regarding between Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro.

Many will remember that Márquez was given a one-minute penalty by the Race Direction following the race, but the penalty was later that evening overturned by the FIM Stewards following an appeal by Marquez’s team. Unhappy with the decision, Espargaro’s team lodged a counter appeal and today the Pons 40 HP Tuenti team appeal was rejected and the FIM Stewards decision to cancel Marc Marquez penalty stands.

The current leader in the standings gets to keep his 16 points earned with 3rd place podium in the race and the case should be definitely closed.
