After the success of the S versions over recent years, from next spring, KTM’s range will be enriched with a new model, the KTM990 Adventure R. Compared to the standard model, the novelties from this bike are important in both its technical aspects and its new look.
The engine will be more compact and powerful, with an extra 17hp, taking the maximum power to 115hp. The suspension has a completely new set, and wheel travel has been increased by 55mm, at 265 both front and rear. The R version is the perfect bike with which to go exploring, and is designed for riders looking for some adventure.
Other positive expects are the reduced weight and a redesigned structure for durability and trustworthy riding. After the jump are some of the new aspects of the Adventure R, and also some pics of the 990 Adventure.
The KTM 990 Adventure R has an LC8 twin cylinder at 999cc, with reduced vibrations and power and torque increased to 115hp and 100Nm respectively. The cooling system has been updated and with the elimination of the valve check at 1000km, time between maintenance has been lengthened.
The exhaust has been modified with twin terminals, and the fork, rear chassis, pedal supports and brake calipers are all in black. The new instrument panel is completely integrated and multi-functional, and includes emergency light and immobiliser. The seat is twin colour and there are new KTM R graphics with a varnished look and brushed orange elements.
