Moto Morini is continuing its development of its brand, and after the arrival of the Granpasso 1200 at the beginning of the year, the company has waited for Eicma to present other new models, this time with the Moto Morini Scrambler.
Departing from the technical basis of the 9½, some revolutionary changes were then made to reach what is the essence of a srambler model - eclectic, agile and easy to ride. A scrambler should be two wheels to move around on both on and off asphalt, and the Moto Morini version includes a 19-inch rear wheel just for this purpose.
Apart from the perfect halfway point between a naked and an enduro, this Scrambler also has the guarantee of Marabese Design, who has given a vintage touch in to the details of this modern bike. It includes a 21-litre tank, round headlight, small cover and shorter tail, which shows a design expected of such a model.
The trellis frame includes side-mounted exhaust, piggy back tank and alloy fork. Double muffler silencers feature, with a 50mm Marzocchi fork at the front. The engine is a twin-cylinder Bialbero CorsaCorta at 1187cc, designed by France Lambertini. It has performance of 117hp at 8,500 rpm and an integrated carter.
The Excel wheels are 19-inch at the front at 17-inch at the rear, with alloy spokes and allow for the assembly of tubeless tyres. The Brembo brakes at the front feature two floating discs at 298mm.
Moto Morini has also prepared a range of accessories including side saddle bags of 25 litre capacity, rear storage, tank cover, headlight protection grill, passenger seat cover, black or chrome mufflers, and plenty more.
The Scrambler doesn’t have pricing yet, but will be aviable from February 2009 in the colour combinations of black/white and white/red with black chassis.
