Peugeot motorcycles has completed its high wheel scooter range with the LXR: an urban scooter equipped with 16-inch wheels and with a lighter and more compact style that also has an attractive price-quality ratio. The scooter was presented at the Eicma show in Milan.
The LXR is slimmer and lighter than the Geopolis and is available in 125 and 200cm3, with four-stroke, liquid cooled engines that comply with Euro 3 norms. The 125cm3 has a power of 13hp, while the 200cm3 has electronic ignition and 16hp.
The LXR has a telscopic 33mm fork with travel of 100mm. The rear features a double shock absorber with four different positions, 72mm travel and 16-inch wheels. The Peugeot scooter is 100mm shorter than the Geopolis and is distinguished by its agility and manoeuvrability, especially in heavy traffic.
It’s dry weight is 135 kg, with a seat height of 795mm. The two 220mm disc brakes offer efficient and safe braking, while the underseat storage can easily hold a jet helmet. Some little technical touches have been included, with an electric opening system for the seat, fold away foot space for the passgener and a larger windshield. Peugeot has even undertaken a study on air flow so as to reduce the level of acceleration noise produced.
