Aprilia has really worked on bringing up its family of models, and we can see an interesting evolution in the Aprilia scooter segment, with the latest addition, the Sportcity One 50 2T, showing a trend towards smaller rather than larger scooters. It will be added to the line-up of scooters with the four-stroke 125cc and 50cc engines.
The lovely and clean two-stroke engine gives a younger alternative in the large Sportcity category, with its unmistakable design, both elegant and sporty. Aprilia should also be able to offer a competitive price for the performance you get.
The secret to this model lies in its smaller dimensions, but without losing on the practicality and versatility of the Sportcity style. One feature is the larger seat, which can accommodate both rider and passenger in comfort. Below are all the details from Aprilia on its new scooter.
Sportcity One is a scooter that stands out from the crowd thanks to its essential nature: the perfect vehicle to get you through traffic, with excellent comfort and top-level equipment. With 32 mm stanchions and a wheel travel of 85 mm, the hydraulic fork effectively smoothes out even the roughest road surfaces.
As with all scooters of the type, the engine-transmission assembly acts as swingarm and is damped by an adjustable shock absorber. The 76 mm wheel travel makes easy work of any road surface, providing a level of comfort normally only found on larger models, also due to the large tyres.
Thanks to this particular chassis configuration, the Sportcity One is the perfectly combination of spacious comfort and unique handling. A powerful 220 mm front disc (a record diameter for its category) with a two-piston floating caliper, plus a 140 mm rear drum mean instant stopping.
The Sportcity One 2T is a real all-round urban vehicle. A lively 2-stroke engine – producing 4.08 HP – makes the One 50 2T the lightest and most agile scooter in the Sportcity range, also thanks to the “sprinter” configuration of the engine and the optimal automatic transmission ratios.
The Sportcity One 50 2T offers excellent acceleration, letting you reach the maximum speed allowed by law very quickly. The Kick starter is fitted as standard on the Sportcity One 2T, so you’ll always be able to start the scooter even with a flat battery.
