According to International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) and the Bulgarian Motorcycle Federation (BMF) have announced an agreement to design and build a Motogp circuit in Bulgaria.
Claude Denis, chairperson of the MotoGP committee with FIM, said that the Bulgarian circuit would be added to the MotoGP calendar for 2011.

The negotiations over the design and construction of the race track started a year ago in the north of the country near Dolna Mitropolya, but the details were kept secret and according to its designer, Adamo Leonzio ” it’s going to be out of this world.”

Other reports emerging from the Bulgarian press say the Eastern European country is also keen to host also a round of the Formula One championship in the same year and it appears that the BMF have met F1 representatives in Monaco to discuss this possibility.

There is a great SM track near Dolna Mitropoliya but it’s on military grounds, so it’s open ONLY when there is a race.

No tests for Bulgarian teams, no riding schools, no track days.

Hope the MotoGP track is not that way!

I’ll keep TwoWheelsBlog updated on the subject
