While Robbie Maddison was doing his stuff outside the Paris Casino in Las Vegas, stuntman Robbie Knievel, son of Evel Kneivel was jumping over the volcano at the Mirage.

Here’s the footage, but according to those on scene, the 200-foot high jump made by Knievel where he appears to jump over the volcano, he instead actually jumped next to the spewing fireball and not directly over it. Fireworks shot into the air as the stuntman landed on the strip in an area cleared earlier by police.

Knievel said he told casino officials when they were planning the jump that if they wanted him to jump over the volcano, they would have to clear palm trees and build a ramp that would likely disrupt their valet parking service in front of the hotel.
