Growing up in Western Sydney, Australia, often meant passing the Fraser Motorcycles store on Parramatta Rd. It’s a place where you would take any bike loving visitor when in Sydney, and has always been an institution in the city. With more than 50 years of motorcycle expertise, Fraser’s has just opened a new state-of-the-art motorcycle store.

Perhaps overdue in the Fraser business, the store is an exciting new chapter in the history of motorcycling in Australia. It was designed by interior designer Michael McCann, and has an open workshop to view repairs and tuning at close hand, and the world’s first revolving Dyno right in the middle of the showroom floor.

It’s a long way from founder Norm Fraser’s backyard shed in 1955 in Newcastle, and the first store in Sydney in 1968. Still a family-owned business, the new Fraser Motorcycles store had a grand opening, as seen in the video, to show off the biggest range of Ducati, Harley Davidson, Buell and BMW bikes in Australia.

Check out the video and gallery for a look at a small slice of Australian motorcycling history, and if you’re ever in town in Sydney, it’s worth a look. For more information, go to the Fraser store website.

Good points…I would note that as someone who really doesn’t write on blogs much (in fact, this may be my first post), I don’t think the term “lurker” is very becoming to a non-posting reader. It’s not your fault really , but perhaps the blogosphere could come up with a better, non-creepy name for the 90% of us that enjoy reading the posts.
