New rider tips

learning to ride This handy article comes from the Honda site, via Roadbike Magazine, and includes all sorts of nifty tricks if you’re a new-comer to the world of two wheels.

The magazine has piled together ten tips for new riders, though we could probably add plenty more. Some tips include reading your bike’s manual for practical things such as how to get the seat off, while others focus on riding style. For example, not tensing up in your upper body so as not to require a full sauna and body massage after every trip.

Some particularly good advice comes when riding in groups, like sitting together at a stop sign for visibility and so as not to be split up by traffic; and not attempting to keep up with more experienced members of a group by riding like a nutcase. Your own pace is as fast as you need to go.

Let us know your best new rider tips and experiences.
