Fonsi Nieto has been confirmed by Alstare Suzuki Brux for the next two rounds of the WSBK Championship at Misano Adriatico and Donington Park. Nieto will be replacing again Max Neukirchner who still is recovering from the pile up incurred during Race 1 at Monza.
The Spanish rider has already two rounds under his leathers with the GSX-R 1000 K9 and took a 16th and 15th place in Kyalami and a 16th and 13th place at Miller, but the team is hoping that Neukirchner will be able to return in time for the Brno round from July 24th to 27th.
With the German out of any chance of fighting for the championship and Yukio Kagayama who is riding with a broken foot and a injured shoulder Alstare Suxuki is already looking ahead to the 2010 season as confirmed by Giacomo Guidotti, the team’s technical director.
Batta’s team will be using the same bike next year and needs the feedback that Neukirchner, who is considered the number one in the team can give them, and they also have to try to keep their rider, because the BMW racing team desperately wants Neukirchner in their team and it seems that they are even willing to pay off the 2010 contract that Neukirchner has with Alstare Suzuki to get him.
