It was Michel Fabrizio with his Xerox Ducati that took today’s provisional pole at the Misano Adriatico circuit clocking in at 1.037”016 in the last seconds of qualifying. While it was Ben Spies showing again that he just has to look at a layout of track to get to know it intimately, who lead the the entire one hour session till Fabrizio nipped him. Third went to Yukio Kagayama on his Suzuki K9 with an impressive 1.37”209 considering that the Japanese rider is still carrying a broken ankle that he picked up at Millers Sportspark. Jonathan Rea, Broc Parkes, Riyuichi Kyionari and Carlos Checa were 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th, respectively.

Noriyuki Haga, who is leading in the riders standings was only eighth. Max Biaggi who notoriously concentrates on his race set up on Friday was 16th and eight tenths from Fabrizio’s provvisional pole.

John Hopkins returned o action with Stiggy Honda after his Assen injury is down in 27th.

Misano is expecting heavy rain showers tomorrow morning and light rain in the afternoon during Superpole, which could mix up the present situation and give us some surprises.
