HRC officially organized a private test for Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez at the Circuit of the America’s scheduled from the 12th to the 14th of March, however Dorna and IRTA have requested that the Japanese team also open their test and invite other MotoGP teams to take part - if they wish to do so - but at their own expense.
Spanish website motocuatro.com, is reporting that Yamaha is considering the possibility of attending the test. At the present, the Iwata manufacturer has yet to decide whether to travel to Texas with Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi - who are both interested in going - so they can learn the new circuit’s secrets and find a good base set-up ahead the second round of the season (April 19-21) or just opt for a cheaper solution and send a test rider to gather feedback.
So far no other team has shown interest in taking part in the private test, except for LCR Honda who wants Stefan Bradl to attend, but according to Speedweek.de just shipping the bike and relative equipment to Texas would cost 35,000 euros, add travel and living expenses for the entire team and paying part of the $50,000 per day track fee, may result little too expensive for the satellite team’s pocketbook.
