Jorge Lorenzo may have crashed out today at Brno, but the Spaniard is still a very hot item for other teams wanting his talent. Like we reported on Saturday, Ducati and their title sponsor Marlboro (Philip Morris) have contacted Lorenzo and his management team and it looks like talks have already started big time.

According to the well informed Italian website Motosprint, Ducati and Philip Morris have offered 7.000.000 euros a season to have Lorenzo in Borgo Panigale and riding the D16 next year, twice as much as what Yamaha is offering and € 2.000.000 more than what Lorenzo was asking Honda.

If this offer is true and not some sensational headline, it smacks of desperation and vulnerability and it fuels even more speculation on Casey Stoner’s mystery fatigue illness.
