Moto Guzzi Mulo Meccanico

This picture is dedicated to the most controversial and probably ugliest, Moto Guzzi ever made. But the “Mulo Meccanico” is also the most technically interesting Guzzi around, made to substitute the mules or donkeys used for military operations in Alpine regions.

The most significant aspect of this Moto Guzzi is the twin cylinder, transverse V engine, which has since become a symbol of Moto Guzzi excellence. Other features include the easily assembled rear wheel caterpillar chains and the three wheel drive. Below are a couple of shots of the Mulo Meccanico in action.

The Mulo Meccanico three wheel vehicle is interesting but I saw a three wheel Moto Guzzi in the film called “Roman Holiday” with Audrey Hepburn and it looked a little different. What kind of Moto Guzzi was that and why did they build it?
