Today’s MotoGP race at Estoril, saw Jorge Lorenzo plant his flag on the Portughese soil, in total domination, while Casey Stoner took second, proving that his three race break did not harm his performance on the Ducati, putting in consistent lap times and going the entire race distance. Third went to Dani Pedrosa, couldn’t catch up with the two front runners.

The last of the Fantastic Four, Valentino Rossi was fourth and with his pace simply couldn’t contest with the top three podium finishers, losing from one to a massive two seconds in the second half of the race, finishing 23.4 seconds behind his super fast team mate.

If it wasn’t for some interesting battles in the middle of the grid and Mika Kallio crashing, Alex DeAngelis and Loris Capirossi pulling out due to unkown technical problems, we can safely say that this was one of the most boring races of the season.

The championship standings now sees Jorge Lorenzo just 18 points behind Rossi, with three races left in the season. The next GP race will be at Phillip Island, Australia the 18th of October.

With Lorenzo’s win today, Yamaha has wrapped up the MotoGP Teams Constructor Championship.
