The third and final day of MotoGP testing at Jerez is being plagued again by rain and after two hours since the pitlane opened at 10am. only six riders have taken to track and recorded a lap time with Ducati’s development rider Michele Pirro the fastest so far on one of the two laboratory Desmosedici’s.
Due to the weather conditions, Pirro’s best lap is 1:47.708 followed by Nicky Hayden who is more than 2.8 seconds adrift, while Repsol Honda has announced that Dani Pedrosa has decided to skip the third day as he no longer has anything to test in the wet (and wet tires are limited and riders reported excessive wear issues) and has left the circuit.
“I am happy with the bike, the weather is bad and my neck is a little sore still… I’m going home and I can’t wait to go to Qatar!” said Pedrosa on the Repsol Honda Twitter feed.
Team mate Marc Marquez is still present, and waiting, like everyone else to see if the weather clears up before deciding to put in a few laps.
Pedrosa finished second and fourth on the previous two days of testing.
