While Jorge Lorenzo may have totally changed his attitude from his racing days when he was in 125cc and 250cc, the Mallorcan rider is now calm, polite, friendly and very politically correct, but his personal manager Marcos Hirsch isn’t and seems to be following in the footsteps of Lorenzo’s former manager Dani Amatriain who was often involved in controversial statements.

Hirsch is considered by Lorenzo as his new mentor, infact in his autobiography ‘My Story so Far’ describes his former trainer as “his brother, for teaching and protecting me”

The manager first started when saying he was tired of hearing that Lorenzo was copying Rossi’s settings and what Rossi did for Yamaha and then wouldn’t believe that Masao Furusawa had said; “My goal in MotoGP is winning with Valentino, and maybe one day Valentino will stop in MotoGP, but I’d like to ask him to complete his MotoGP career with Yamaha,” and hypercritical with Yamaha that would permit Rossi to put pressure on them as “he’s an employee who earns millions to win, but he’s doen’t own the marque nor the motorcycle”.

Now the lastest comes from Cadena SER:

It’s very sad that a champion of Rossi’s stature is so worried about Jorge, he should only be happy and fight and win on the same footing and not use these type of strategies. This continuing psychological strategy of sending messages through his journalist friends, surprises me a little.

Lorenzo is just one more rival to beat, a rival that’s at an incredibly high level, but that’s all. There are other riders on the track who are talented and fast, and you never know what is going to happen.”

The problem seems to be only Valentino’s. Jorge is not obsessed by him … Jorge is a very polite and a gentleman and when he congratulates you he’s sincere, while Rossi is a champion only when he wins and this year he won, because we lost.”

While Rossi at yesterday’s motocross event at Cavallara was interviewed by Italian TV show “Quelli Che Il Calcio” said: “I’ve got a good relationship with Lorenzo and we get on together. Certainly if Yamaha wanted to stimulate me with his presence they’ve succeded, even too much.”

Yep, it’s going to be a very interesting off season.
