Marushin RS1 This is one very futuristic-looking helmet, created by Marushin and made entirely from carbon. That makes the RS1 one of the lightest helmets in the world at only 1080 grams.

The external shell is completely carbon, a material that is so hi-tech it’s light, but very strong. An air flow system has been created in the interior of the helmet, and the closure in the classic double D ring.

The visor is made from polycarbon and is scratch resistant, and anti-fog, with the rapid Push Off removable system. The interior padding can be removed and washed, while sizes range from XS to XXL. The full carbon RS1 is available at a price of 396 euros.

An excellent helmet indeed.. i bought mine for £170.. a real bargain.. its comfortable.. has excellent vision all round.. no need to take helmet off when manoevring etc.. strong and really really light! Well worth the money.. and certainly as good as any Arai i’ve tried and due to it being less well known its cheaper!

Started to get a crackling noise from inside my Marushin 777 carbon, got a feeling it could be static discharge created by the wind over the carbon, any ideas?

Aeromech, keep off that glass pipe and the crackling noises will go away. The internet, sheesh!

I have used a Marushin RS1 for two years. It is light, so light you will wonder how other hats could be so heavy.

Had my marushin re-2 for 4 months now and I too have heard the cracking sounds, panic set in and thought it might have been splitting inside somewhere. As mentioned it could have been static or possibly contraction of materials rapidly between hot and cold exposure. Nonetheless, it always gets comments and for the good too. Worth every penny. Paid 129 for mine, think they marked it up wrong but wasn’t going to say anything!
