2020 Harley Davidson concept

Should Harley Davidson still be around in 2020 to produce “interesting and desirable product”, here is Jonathan Russel’s vision of what that future product could look like. This gallery shows a 2020 Harley Davidson concept with an Apple technology touch. The futuristic bike is not something you’d normally see in Harley Davidson’s line-up of air cooled V-twins and cruisers, but the company could borrow a couple of elements from this concept and create something to really turn heads.

The “2020 Harley Davidson 1″ (which needs a new name), has laser cut etchings with perforated features to let LED lights shine through. The instruments are all tank-mounted, including a GPS unit and lots of aluminium would make this one light, fast Harley. The idea behind letting the light shine through the frame reflects the Apple Macbook Pro on-off light feature.

While Russel’s design is very futuristic and also very much on paper, the idea of revolutionising at least one Harley Davidson model is very welcome. The brand desperately needs some new life and a fresh approach which doesn’t mean it has to abandon its core American ideals. For more details, see the HD concept gallery below.
