Paola Cazzola was supposed to be the first female racer to take part in an entire World Supersport championship, but the lady went missing in action after the the fourth round at Assen and Andrea Boscoscuro took her place in the Kuja Racing team.
Now we will be lucky enough see Melissa Paris take part as a wildcard in WSS action at Miller Motorsports Park this upcoming weekend.
Paris will be making her second appearance in the World event and last year she was the fastest wild card qualifier but suffered a mechanical and was sidelined early in the race. Melissa will again ride the # 13 Yamaha for MPH Racing and she is also competing as a full-time rider this year in the AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike class.
Other wildcard entries include: 17 year old Tyler Odom with Erion Racing team. Dylon Husband, a veteran club racer who will ride a Kawasaki for his own team, H-n-H Racing.
Chip Yates on a Suzuki for Swigz.com Pro Racing, who is also busy developing an electric-powered sport bike that he will race domestically and internationally this season and Jason Farrell who recently set the 600cc track record at Heartland Park Raceway in Kansas.
