The competitive scooter market in Europe has a new low-cost player in Peda Motor from China. Our Italian colleagues at Motoblog.it are reporting that these scooters are available on the local market at very low prices. The four-stroke, 50cc Speedy scooter is available at 980 euros, while the maxi-scooter, 250cc New Star model costs 2,550 euros.
What’s more, Peda Motor is offering eight models in Europe, which makes for a large range dedicated to a big slice of the two-wheel market. 50cc models include the Speedy mentioned above, the two-stroke Speed Fire, the four-stroke Via and the liquid-cooled sports scooter H2O. The F6 model is available with a 125cc engine, while the ‘Captain’ comes in both 125 and 150 cc motors. The Peda Wind is considered the most adapted to the European and Peda Motor intends it to be the most competitive scooter.
The is available as both a two-stroke, 50cc model and a four-stroke 125cc model. It’s a high wheel scooter sold at 1,550 euros for the 50cc and 1,800 euros for the 125cc model. On the Italian market, a sales dealership network is already being developed and the Reduzzi Motor importer also manages the spare parts operation. These kinds of scooters will probably always find their niche in young riders who will spend little, but it will be difficult for them to make a dent in the kind of success of brands such as Piaggio and Vespa, especially in Italy.
