Jorge Lorenzo came back from his relaxing holidays in Santo Domingo to continue his domination on track. The Spaniard was the fastest rider in today’s MotoGP free practice at Brno and also took the track record with 20 minutes remaining in the session.

The Fiat Yamaha rider was then able to further improve that best time by laying down blazing lap of 1.57″215, that left him clear of Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi by 0.504s and 0.606s respectively, before a light rain began to fall in the final 15 minutes that more or less ended the session.

Andrea Dovizioso took fourth and was the last rider within one-second of Lorenzo and he was followed by Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards, while Casey Stoner was only seventh and those couple of tenths that he’s been looking for in his Ducati, became 1.3 seconds slower than Lorenzo’s best time.

The eight spot went to Marco Simoncelli despite binning his Honda at the beginning of the hour session. Ben Spies took ninth on a track he finally knows. Suzuki rookie Alvaro Bautista closed out the top ten.

Loris Capirossi finished behind his younger team mate in eleventh and Aleix Espargaro took twelfth for Pramac ahead of his team mate Mika Kallio by just 0.035s.

Marco Melandri who is still recovering from his shoulder injury took 14th place, while Randy de Puniet who broke his left leg just 26 days ago finished in 16th ahead of Alex de Angelis, who is continuing to replace Hiroshi Aoyama at Interwetten Honda.
