leon camier Leon Camier fractured his scaphoid during qualifying practice at Nurburgring and underwent surgery a week ago but has decided to skip next week’s World Superbike round at Imola to give his wrist more time to heal.

“It really hurt the first night after the operation and I didn’t get much sleep but since then it has become more and more comfortable. It still gives me the odd sharp pain but it’s better than it was,
” said Camier, speaking to bikesportnews.com. “I have started the rehabilition and physiotherapy process but there’s no way I will be able to ride at Imola. I’ve also been advised that I shouldn’t race at Magny-Cours either but I am just going to take it day-by-day and see how it is nearer the time.”

Max Biaggi’s nephew Federico, is tipped to replace Camier at Imola.
