sarath kumar After the announcement of the three-year partnership between WTR and Ten 10 Racing, the first Indian team that will compete in the 2011 125cc World Championship will be fielding 18-year-old Sarath Kumar as one of their riders.

Kumar besides being one of India’s up and coming racers, is also a business administration student at the Madras University, was scooped up Ten 10 Racing in 2009 and currently races in the 165cc group B series with a Yamaha YZF R15 and represented India in the UAM Asia Cup in Japan in September 2010.

Talking about about his 2011 challenge, Kumar said. “I”m very happy because I am doing something which no Indian rider has done before.Moto GP (125cc) is a challenge. I didn”t expect to reach there so soon.” Adding, “The first year I”ll look for the experience. I would like to perform well from the second year on.”

The 125cc championship may see a second Indian team on the 125 grid next season, if Indian automobile company Mahindra & Mahindra finds a team to back.

    I always thought you , Micky , was a Superbike. I grew up to you winning on the
    Rothmans Honda but I was young and could you reply.
