Dani Pedrosa has opted for surgery to repair his broken collarbone picked up following his big crash during the Le Mans GP.

The Repsol Honda rider was unsure whether to let the fracture heal naturally or undergo surgery, but today decided on the latter. Surgery took place the Teknon Medical Centre in Barcelona and a titanium plate was inserted to fix the collarbone.

Following medical checks, Pedrosa will be discharged from hospital and next week he is expected to begin passive rehabilitation. His participation in next month’s Catalunya GP is still in doubt.

Its a shame for Pedrosa. Has no luck at all. Hopefully he can come back from this but two damaged shoulders? That’ll be some strain going into corners on the brakes!
