Having concluded the long summer break (five weeks), the extraordinary spectacle of the World Superbike championship returns, kicking off at Donington Park. Troy Bayliss heads the news with a possible third victory in his retirement season.
For Max Biaggi the next few days should close the confusing situation which sees him torn between the Ducati Factory and the re-entering Aprilia. Biaggi has said on his site:
“Finally we can start again. After the summer break I’m ready and tense like a spring. Riding at Donington Park is really fun, especially the first part (the fast part) downhill which requires trust and a stable bike.
“Personally I have a lot of fun, even if the threatening rain is always around the corner. Last year I was on the podium twice - second and third place, and so this weekend I’m expecting a good performance.”
In the future, 2009, there will be a new superbike team for Max, but which one? “Only four races are left before the season ends, but there’s been talk of the 2009 season for months. To be honest, I would have preferred to know already about next year, but from what I understand there will be the English race, after which it will be clearer. Proposals aren’t lacking but we’ll wait and see. So, I’ll leave you now, and I’ll update you from Donington. In the meantime, be good! Ciao.”
