The Jerez GP scheduled for April 29th, 2012 is now officially on, as advance tickets for the event are now on sale.

Following last week’s rumors that the round was once again in doubt due to the massive financial problems that the circuit is having, (they’re 45 million euros in debt) and the fact that tickets had yet to be sold, but the town’s mayor José Maria Garcia Pelayo assured racing fans that the highly popular event is on: “The Jerez Grand Prix will be regularly hosted in 2012. We are working on organizing the event without relying on help from private companies, but I can officially confirm that 2012 GP is not at risk. “

Apparently the town has also found the sanction fees to pay Dorna and the contract to host the event at Jerez de la Frontera has finally been signed.
