
That 9 times motorcyle World Champion Valentino Rossi has the car racing bug is a well known fact and the Italian rider after taking part in the 6 Ore di Vallelunga endurance race, may also take part in one the most important car races of the world, the 24 hours of Le Mans, that takes place June 12th-13th 2010.
Jean Alesi, former Formula 1 driver, has already taken part in the race in 1989 with a Porsche 962C with Roy Will and Dominic Dobson has revealed to French website L’Equipe that he is taking part in the 24 Hours next year again and wants Rossi to be one of his co-drivers on board a Ferrari F430 GT2.
Rossi has already droven the same Ferrari during the 6 Ore in November and could schedule the high profile car race between MotoGP races of the Mugello and Silverstone.

Valentino Rossi and his team (Uccio Salucci and Andrea Ceccato) had fun at the 6 Ore di Vallelunga endurance race, but weren’t very lucky,the amateur drivers were able to take a third place podium in the GT class and an eleventh overall.
Mechanical problems and a fire on the Ferrari 430 GT prepared by Kessel Racing stopped the team from taking first place in their series.
Valentino Rossi, was behind the wheel of the Ferrari in the first hour and the first five laps were done behind the safety car due to heavy fog, but at the end of the first hour the team was second and had the fastest lap among the GT3 cars.

Valentino Rossi, Alessio “Uccio” Salucci and Andrea Ceccato took tenth in today’s qualifying session at the 6 Ore di Vallelunga.
Team 46, on a Kessel Racing Ferrari 430 GT3 did a best time of 1’35”943, that got them on the fifth row for tomorrow’s
endurance race.
Rossi will be the starting driver: “I want to see how I handle the tussle so I’m doing the start. Up to now I’ve aways driven alone so I want to see what happens in a car race start.”
One of Rossi’s rivals will be Emanuele Pirro, five times winner the 24 Hours of Le Mans who qualified third with a Corvette Z06 GT3 from Scuderia 22, who asked Rossi at the end of session which was better, motorcycles or cars? “I can’t compare cars to bikes” replied Rossi. “It would be like comparing soccer to basketball.”
The race starts tomorrow morning at 9:30.

Valentino Rossi has confirmed that he’ll be racing in the 6 Ore di Vallelunga endurance race this upcoming weekend.
The 9 times motorcycle champion will be driving a Ferrari F430 Scuderia GT3 from Kessel Racing Team. The car’s number according to the organizers will be the unmistakable ‘46’ and Rossi will be joining his friend and team mates Alessio ‘Uccio’ Salucci and Andrea Ceccato in the six hour race.
According to the well informed Italian website GPone, who has spies everywhere, Rossi was seen at the Mugello circuit testing the Ferrari Scuderia totalling about twenty laps, trying to learn the workings of the car before the official free practice that starts Saturday morning.
