The Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory will be available on the Italian market this month, with local pricing released and an offer “you can’t refuse” for March only. Until March 31, the Dorsoduro Factory will be available with sports slip-on exhaust for just 9,990 euros in Italy in a move likely to please the lucky local population, and try and gain some ground against Ducati.
It’s a fiercely competitive market in Italy and an Aprilia Factory version, the more performance and track oriented bikes in the Aprilia range, at that price is a steal. The Dorsoduro Factory comes with a 750cc engine, plenty of carbonfibre finish and ride-by-wire technology.

The Aprilia Dorsoduro was on display at the Rome motodays event and here we give you a new set of Dorsoduro pics and video. The new gallery gives us a fantastic close-up of the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 Factory, with its 90°, twin-cylinder V engine, with 92 hp and ride by wire technology. Other features include 43 mm upside Sachs fork, radial four-piston Brembo calipers on a 320 mm front floating wave disc, and a Matrix analogue-digital instrument panel.
The Dorsoduro has quietly gone about its business after the hype of plenty of other bikes of late, and if you want to know more about how this thing actually rides, check out our test details part one and part two. It’s a versatile bike, with both naked and superbike features for plenty of fun, and the supermotard hasn’t skimped on interesting technological elements for this kind of bike. Check it out in the pics and video below.
Aprilia live at EICMA has some impressive models to show off, including the RSV4 R, which is the undisputed queen of the stand. It appears along with the new Dorsoduro Factory (more on that later), the new Shiver and the little RS in Biaggi Replica livery. Oh, and of course a few Aprilia girls to keep you happy.

After the Aprilia Dorsoduro RR and R project, a nasty version from V2 racing designed for the Hypermoto Series, the temptation to create a road replica was just too great. And so the Dorsoduro special project was developed, again by V2 Racing, creating the Dorsoduro R.
One lucky customer has already had his model delivered, which you can see in the pictures below. The road version is decidedly agressive, with white paint work and racing details.
The mean look is matched to 90hp at only 168 kg in weight. Other features include Galfer calipers and gold Ohlins fork and shock absorber. If you see a bit of white fly past the window of your car one day, it’s quite possible it was the Aprilia Dorsoduro R.

The name Dorsoduro (literally hard back or more liberally strong spine), is already a clue as to why this Aprilia fascinates and makes you feel like a real rider. And this Dorsoduro test ride, after part one, will be an “onboard diary” from the guys at Motoblog.
The first thing to note after a couple of weeks is how fun it has been to ride, and how much attention the Dorsoduro garners. People look, the stop, they want to know how it goes and how much it costs: something which should always happen with ‘special’ two wheels.
While it isn’t extremely powerful it gives the impression that it’s been held back a little to adapt it to motorcycle on today’s roads. After a few hundred kilometres you will realise it has everything it needs: a low and long seating position, and an incredible sound.
While there was so much to organise for our coverage of the Eicma show, what with all the beautiful Ducati models, the Honda Fireblade and Hornet, the Victory custom models, KTM and of course the blonde and brunette girls, it’s very easy to get distracted.
It was also very easy to be distracted by the possibility of an Aprilia Dorsoduro sitting in the garage, waiting for a test ride. And so our colleagues at Motoblog.it couldn’t resist such a delicious opportunity, and we give you this first instalment of their Dorsoduro road test.
In the first test in city traffic and on urban roads, the Aprilia Dorsoduro was already convincing, though we had an idea just from taking a look at this lovely motorcycle that this would be the case.

We did our own test on the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 and were well impressed with the “ride by wire” technology and the Sport and Touring modes. As you can see from the photos of our previous post, we certainly put the Dorsoduro through its paces.
Over on MCN they’ve done a group test of the Aprilia up against the KTM 990SM and the Ducati Hypermotard. Above is the video of the test where you can check out how the Aprilia fared.

At the Dorsoduro presentation in Rome, Aprilia has released details of its new 1200cc V-twin model. In big news from Noale both a 1200cc Shiver and Dorsoduro have been confirmed. Departing with the 1200 already in mind, the same motorcycles and frames will be used, but with the new V-twin.
It is currently unclear as to whether there will be a double or two single launches of the new models, but one is set to be released as a 2009 version. The information was had from factory sources and includes these images, seen on the next page the Dorsoduro.
Thanks to Tor Sagen for the news.
