According to Speedweek Alex Hofmann will be testing an Aprilia based CRT machine at Valencia this Wednesday to Friday.
Hofmann is Aprilia’s test rider and also a MotoGP commentator, will be testing the RSV4 in its CRT form for Aspar Martinez’ MotoGP/Moto1 team, as the Spanish manager has yet to announce which rider they’ll be fielding in 2012.
The German website is also reporting that the Aprilia RSV4 will be equipped with the gear driven camshaft that was outlawed in World Superbikes in 2011 and the Noale based company wants around 1.3 million euros per a complete bike, but the chassis maker hasn’t be named.
Hopefully Hofmann who is avid on Twitter will tweet a photo of the new machine on Wednesday, so stay tuned.

Take Moto2 points leader Stefan Bradl (2nd at Misano) and soon-to-be MotoGP rider, and pit him against and former MotoGP racer turned TV commentator/Aprilia test rider Alex Hofmann and you’ve got a fun day at the Hockenheimring.
Bradl’s on a Honda CBR600F and while Hofmann takes the helm of Aprilia’s Tuono V4.

After Nicky Hayden on Tuesday, Valentino Rossi got his third day of testing on the Ducati GP12 yesterday at the Mugello and turned 80 laps on the new bike, but the Ducati wasn’t just testing the GP12 and Franco Battaini doing work on both the GP11 and GP12.
Troy Bayliss also spent three days testing the new Ducati Extreme 1200 (sorry, no pics, but Bayliss did say on his Facebook page “today i finish test on new superbike , all i can say is the bike is a beast and she is on the money , get your orders in fast , she will sell hot cakes”) and Aprilia had Alex Hofmann doing work on the RSV4 and these last two were also lapping together and Hofmann tweeted “ Stoked ! Finished the day with a 51.9 on soft race tires. Low 52’s on race options. Personal best ever to hold off Baylistic by some tenths! which at least gives us a faint idea how the new Ducati Superbike is shaping up.
“It was another positive test,” said Rossi. “We had a number of things to try, including a new step with the frame that I liked. The general feeling was good. I was already happy with the engine the first time I tried it, and now we’re also making progress with the rest of the bike. Naturally, we’ll have to see when the others try their 2012 bikes, but as far as we’re concerned, for the moment we’re satisfied; our bike is already good. Riding at Mugello is always a pleasure. On top of everything else, the conditions today were perfect, so in addition to the good work we carried out—because I did 80 laps—I enjoyed my time riding. Compliments to the circuit for the new additions; the main grandstand is really nice, and of course I hope to see Mugello filled with fans for the race.”

Not satisfied by the three day SBK test that was held at Portimao that was curtailed by rain two days out of three, Supersonic, Liberty Racing teams and Aprilia test rider Alex Hofmann are currently carrying out another two days of testing at Aragon, before heading to Phillip Island later this month.
Fortunately for the teams it’s not raining, but the temperatures are pretty rigid (check out this Twitpic from Hofmann for proof).
Here’s what Berger and Danilo Soncini team manager had to say about the first day:
Danilo Soncini: “It was very cold today at Motorland Aragon which is undoubtedly one of the most modern circuits in the world. Compared to Portimao we don’t have rain, so the team was able to work better than in Portugal. Maxime Berger was able to become familiar with this circuit, where we will have in June the seventh round of the Superbike World Championship and he has done many kilometres improving his feeling with the bike and with our technicians. Because the low temperatures, Maxime has decided not to risk anything and focused on electronics, tires and set-up from his Ducati. If tomorrow the weather improves we could probably finish the work that we could not finish in Portimao.

Aprilia’s first day (yesterday) of private testing was cut short due to fog at the Misano World circuit.
Max Biaggi didn’t even try to do a couple of laps, while Leon Camier, who stepped in for in the now retired Shinya Nakano, and yet to be confirmed by the factory Aprilia team, did 28 laps, some on rain tires with a best time of 1.40″20.
According to rumors, Camier should be announcing his signing with the Aprilia factory team after this two day test.
Alex Hofmann, Aprilia’s test rider also did a few laps in the morning, on rain tires with a 1’45.20 has his best time. According to Hofmann’s Twitter page, Alex 66, they even tried to dry the track by driving over it with rental cars.
Marco Simoncelli who has had his car driver’s license pulled twice for speeding, loves to drift with his BMW.
In his autobiography Diobò che Bello!, SuperSic writes that he had two accidents in the same day while drifting his car on a dead end road and lucky for him his mechanic, who is also Graziano Rossi’s mechanic, is the best with BMW suspensions.
The video was filmed by Alex Hofmann, Aprilia’s test rider, former Motogp rider and sometimes MotoGP commentator for DSF German TV.
