Take Moto2 points leader Stefan Bradl (2nd at Misano) and soon-to-be MotoGP rider, and pit him against and former MotoGP racer turned TV commentator/Aprilia test rider Alex Hofmann and you’ve got a fun day at the Hockenheimring.
Bradl’s on a Honda CBR600F and while Hofmann takes the helm of Aprilia’s Tuono V4.

Our guys at Motoblog.it have captured what they think is a spy shot of the new Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory model. According to the photographer, the rider was not happy about being snapped at a petrol station while filling up, but that’s not what tells us this could be the Factory version.
This Tuono V4 is equipped with an Akrapovic exhaust and the seat style and colours, with a bright red tail, could mean this is the more powerful Factory version. The 2012 Tuono V4 Factory should take up the same components as the Tuono V4 R APRC version, and could adopt Ohlins fork and rear suspension.
We don’t love the Aprilia Tuono V4R for its looks, but what it represents is a mighty naked bike that Aprilia has thrown some impressive technology at. This version of the Tuono could prove to be the naked bike that the market was missing - taking this segment to a new level and doing it in sophisticated style, whatever its dress might look like. This video gives us a look at the Tuono V4R from all angles, plus some weird translation and some dramatic rain effects that then don’t take us anywhere. But as we say, this Tuono is not really about style so perhaps Aprilia should have chosen a different kind of video. We can’t wait to read some of the first rides when they come out to see how the bike proves its stuff - check out the details of the Tuono V4R here.
The Piaggio Group brought a near avalanche of models across its brands to the 2010 EICMA show, but we thought we’d take a closer look at the new Aprilia Tuono V4 R, especially after a comment from “Faster 1″ made us think twice on how the market might take this Aprilia Tuono naked version. We’ll forgive Faster 1 for chiding us over comments we never made about how ugly the new Tuono V4 R is, and say this is his/her take on the bike:
Glad to see you guys pull the previous story/version about how ugly the V4R was. Smart move! I can’t get enough of he new Tuono. If it rides as good as it looks, it should be a blast in the canyons as well as a proper 1 or 2 up commuter. It is on my short list of bikes to consider now that it is time to replace my R1. I am also considering a Monster, but the current models are gutless in the engine compartment.. so it looks like a Tuono,, very nice
It turns out that Faster 1 might be onto something. Around EICMA time when the Aprilia Tuono pics first broke, there was plenty of discussion over the bike and its merits. A&R ran the headline that some bikes should keep their clothes on, while HFL described it as the most sophisticated naked ever. Meanwhile on Motoblog.it, they were calling it the market’s most exuberant naked which is kind of where Faster 1’s comment comes in.

The Piaggio Group will be bringing some new models to the 2010 EICMA although unfortunately we don’t expect anything that will knock our socks off quite like the Moto Guzzi concepts last year. In any case, we’ll get to see the Aprilia Tuono V4R on the floor which could steal the show from the Ducati Streetfighter. So far, we’ve got this 3/4 pic to show you and we think it will only be nastier in the flesh.
The Moto Guzzi Stelvio 8v gets a restyling with new sides, tank and front cover and a brand new set of wheels. It also gets a new colour scheme but at this stage we don’t know if there will be any changes regarding the engine and electronics. Meanwhile the RS125 will become the RS4 125 thanks to a new look taken from the current four-cylinder world champion.
For the 2010 EICMA Piaggio will present its new MP3 Yourban - a compact version of the world’s three-wheeler. It will continue the urban commuting philosophy but has a new, smaller front and is less powerful at the front wheels, designed for easier and lighter riding. Vespa will show off its GTV, S Sport and GTS Touring models, along with its new PX to compete with the success of the LML Star. More details to come from the show.

The Piaggio group will be presenting some new models at the 2010 EICMA in Milan in November where we might see the Aprilia Tuareg 1200 on show alongside the new Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200. The news comes from Roberto Colannino speaking at the opening of the new Piaggio showroom in Milan where the Dorsoduro 1200 and Moto Guzzi V7 Racer were presented. While the Moto Guzzi Norge GT 8V was also on show, the real news is coming from Aprilia.
For fans, the possibility of seeing the Aprilia Tuareg 1200 model at the 2010 EICMA is exciting news, as the historic bike gets some new, competitive updates for 2011. The Tuareg is the heir to the Capo Nord Aprilia bike and it will get a new V2 motor to replace the previous Rotax V2. The engine makes use of plenty of Dorsoduro 750 base but will also become the new Dorsoduro engine with an oil radiator and the six cylinders rearranged slightly.
This new 1200 motor will be installed on both the Dorsoduro and the new Tuareg and would seem to produce greater ease and performance at the top of its range. The motor has been designed with torque and low revs in mind although it still gets 130 hp. It should prove to be the closest competitor to the 1,200cc BMW GS and Yamaha Ténéré motors.

The guys from Moto Revue have done a photoshop render of the new Aprilia Tuono V4, to be presented at Milan’s EICMA show this year. The render is from Jérôme Vannesson and takes up from the recent Tuono V4 spy shots from Mugello.
The Tuono V4 will have the same 65-degree V4 motor as the RSV4 with some re-mapping done to create a naked bike. We won’t have to wait long to see whether the render is accurate or not, with EICMA just around the corner in November.

More spy shots from Misano reveal this Aprilia RSV4 Tuono V4 on the track. By the time it reaches production, a few changes to the look will possibly have been made, but otherwise the new Aprilia naked is similar to its superbike cousin.
Th guys at Motoblog have revealed we may see the new Aprilia at Milan’s EICMA show this year. If that’s the case, it looks like there will be plenty to explore come the show, despite worry over the absence of Honda and Yamaha.

These spy shots of the Aprilia Tuono V4 and the Aprilia RSV4 R come from track tests at Mugello in Italy. The models are both based on the Aprilia RSV4 Factory and look just about ready for launch.
Reports say the RSV 4 R will be a cheaper model, in the line of the RSV 1000 R, with less top-end components. The RSV 4 Factory costs about 20,000 euros, and the R will be priced at 16,000 euros, in competition with bikes such as the BMW S1000RR.
A disappointment for those who want the price tag but with the same specs, will be the substition of Ohlins suspension with Showa. The engine is likely to be a little less powerful and with understated wheels to complete the package. Carbon fibre features may be sacrificed, too.
The new Aprilia RSV4 Factory has just hit the markets worldwide and concept designer Luca Bar has created this new naked version based on the motorcycle.
Gossip also has it that Aprilia is actually thinking of launching a naked by the end of 2009 to compete against Ducati’s Streetfighter.
We thank Motoblog.it reader zetabiker for the photo of this Aprilia RSV Tuono V4 rendering, as seen in the Motorcycle News Australia magazine
A hypothetical new version of Aprilia’s naked has been talked about for some time, and here we can see an evident similarity with the Aprilia RSV4. The front headlight and exhaust are virtually the same, though perhaps of more interest is the engine, which should be the same as the RSV4 Race Machine - a V4, 65°, 999cc at 180hp. Let’s hope this isn’t just a playful hypothesis.
While we wait for official confirmation, we give you this new colour of the Aprilia Tuono 1000 Factory, which could be presented sometime in the coming weeks. At this stage Aprilia News has published the photos with no other details as yet.
On the web, there’s talk of a new RSV 4 Tuono, with the new Race Machine engine which currently appears on the RSV 4 Factory.
