Lift off: CR&S Duu concept live at EICMA

CRS Duu Eicma 2009

The big Italian cruiser DUU from CR&S is like having a spacemobile live on the floor at EICMA. The twin-cylinder concept is more like an artwork than a motorcycle, which is just how it’s been designed. We’ll bring you more details of the DUU later, and if you want more on the story of Italian CR&S workshop, see the CR&S motorcycle design videos and drawings.

New Italian superbike cruiser: the CR&S DUU Concept

By Alison in: Custom/cruiser Sportbikes

CR

Milanese firm CR&S presented its first bike Vun at last year’s EICMA show, and they’re gearing up for the 2009 EICMA with this second creation, the DUU. The model continues the Cafe Racers & Superbikes quirky styling, with a two-cylinder, 2000cc engine, equipping a mix of cruiser/superbike design.

Depending on your tastes, you may like this cafe racer come streetfighter look, or you may find it completely over the top. CR&S itself says:

The CR&S “DUU” (”DUU” in Milanese dialect is for “Two”) actually is a “concept bike” which will be first displayed on next November 10/15 at Milano Int. Bike Show - EICMA [ CR&S: Hall. 2 - Booth I-30].

Italian sidecar design: the PPB from CR&S

By Alison in: Accessories Engineering

Nuovo sidecar accessorio per CR

My first reaction on seeing this was: love the paint job! At CR&S VUN they really show a passion for motorcycles with some authentic Italian design, starting with a single cylinder “milanès” rumble.

This design from Cafe’ Racers and Superbikes includes a sidecar, or PPB as an acronym in Milanese dialect meaning “to carry knick-knacks” (the guys at CR&S are a little quirky). The sidecar is aerodynamic, easily attached and is not designed for passengers, hence the name.

On reaching your destination, having carried all your gear in the PPB, you can easily remove the sidecar to get about with your VUN. It’s a genius idea, and the sidecar is made from fibreglass, sold at the price of about 9,600 euros. For more information on CR&S check out our previous posts on the Vun story, part one and part two.

Italian motorcycle design: Vun by CR&S

By Alison in: Video

This is the first part of a video made by Key Frame on the story of the Vun, a peculiar bike created by CR&S (Cafe’ Racers & Superbikes), founded by Roberto Crepaldi in 1992.

We saw CR&S at the Eicma Milan show with some impressive bikes, and this is another which impresses for the maniacal attention with which it is produced. The originality of the Vun can be found in the Milanese dialect sticker on the bike and if you thought Italians were all about chaos and hotch-potch working style, the CR&S Vun will change your mind.

Thanks to Roberto Crepaldi who put us in contact with Raffaele Canepa from Key Frame, to get us this video story of the Vun. We also recognise all the guys who worked on the making of the video.

CR&S, Milanese art on two wheels

By Alison in: Meets/Events Engineering

Stand CRS all'Eicma di Milano 2008

CR&S, acronym for Cafe, Racers & Superbikes, is a Milanese company founded in 1992 by Roberto Crepaldi. It made an appearance at the Milan Eicma show recently with some of its works of art - hand-made motorcycles, each built individually like the Vun, for example.

The bikes are well known for their originality and the logo adorning the CR&S stand was spelled out in Milanese dialect: “Fada sù a Milan cont il coeur e cont i man” - made in Milan with the heart and with the hands.

On the tank of your CR&S you will also find an amusing sticker saying “before use, please study the instruction manual” (”prima de duprala vedd de studiaa ben el librett de’ instruzion”). Below we give you some shots of their work and the models from the Eicma show.
