19-year-old Jackson Strong is the first rider to complete a front flip in competition, according to reports. The first recorded front flip completed on a motorcycle was by Jim DeChamp in 2009, but this X Games front flip video captures the move in competition. We already reported that Jackson completed a front flip on the Crusty Demons tour in Australia recently, but we’re not sure if that qualifies as a ‘competition’ one or not. In any case, it looks like it’s becoming Strong’s specialty and what’s more, in this latest front flip, he sticks the landing and runs away with a gold medal in the best trick contest for doing so. Check it out in the video.

The video footage isn’t that great, but the feat is awesome as Robbie Maddison’s stunts always are. The Australian has gotten another first, by doing the world’s first indoor drop-in on a motorcycle, during the Crusty Demon’s Thirst 4 Destruction Tour finale at Acer Arena that took place Saturday evening in Sydney.
Riding his Yamaha YZ250F off a platform suspended over 70 feet (21 metres) above the floor of Acer Arena successfully landed his bike on a specially built landing ramp, after his practice session went wrong and the daredevil missed the tilted section and landed heavily.
If you think that this type of jump looks easy, compared to what he usually does, check out what the 29-year old Maddo, who has broken 30 odd bones, ruptured his scrotum, broken his neck and almost died from viral meningitis and encephalitis when he was young, said about the jump.
“It’s tough to ride off the edge and make the bike go into a front dive. You want to keep the wheels under you, and not go face-forwards, but if you land in the right spot, the best technique is to be pointing towards the ground and it’s smoother. But your gut instinct takes you off and you’re trying to lift the wheels up and that’s what I did on the first jump and it was really dangerous. It’s a tough jump, getting the angles right is the key and once I get them right I just need to ride off the edge really slowly… There (are) calculations to work this out but I haven’t been bothered to figure it out, I just kind of roll the dice and go with it. I’m just a dare devil.”

A lot of little kids are still frightened of the dark and the bogeyman, but Jasyn Roney isn’t your typical 6-year-old. This pint size Australian FMX dare devil has just got his first gig with the famed Crusty Demons.
Roney, who started riding when he was just 2-years-old, will be debuting in Perth with the Crusty Demons Thirst 4 Destruction 2010 Tour and will be jumping 50ft with a KTM50.
Jaysn will be lining up with Demons freestyle masters as Nate Adams (2010 X-Fighters champion), Robbie “Maddo” Maddison, Adam Jones and Jackson Strong.

He’s only nineteen and the youngest member of the Crusty Demons, but Jackson Strong set a new world record by successfully landing an 85-foot front flip during the the last stop of the Crusty Demons ‘Beyond the Apocalypse Tour’ in Cairns this past weekend.
The young Aussie had made three previous unsuccessful attempts during the tour, but pulled-off the stunt in front of a 6,500-strong crowd at the Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns, Australia.
“I’ve been working on the front flip on a dirt bike for a long time,” said Strong “It’s been a long time coming with my first attempt being about six months ago, where I under rotated the trick and lacerated my liver. So, it just pays off to be determined and let nothing intimidate you.”
After pulling off the front flip, Jackson will spend some time training at his home made jumps in Lockhart before heading to the States for the X-games.
