In this video, Tourist Trophy star Guy Martin tests the new D-Air Dainese suit with inflatable neck protection already tested by champion Valentino Rossi.

Martin described it as a strange experience and was expecting to “pull over” if the air bag system ever goes off on its own. But he says you don’t even know it’s there. See the video for more details of how it works.

In the video above, Valentino Rossi tests the Dainese D-Air racing suit, with seriously high-tech features. The video is in Italian, but is of Rossi asking questions about how the inflation mechanism works on the D-Air Racing suit.

The suit’s protection includes padding around the shoulders and collarbone, with inflation feature that can be activated in a crash. The air-bag style inflation reduces the movement of the neck during a crash, and can then be deflated when re-entering the race.
