Garry McCoy will be returning to the championship after his heavy crash and, riding with the Triumph Italia BE1 team at Portimao. The Australian rider is very well-known for his aggressive riding style.
Team Manager Giuliano Rovelli has said they’ll be trying three motorbikes at Portimao: ” Our goal is to line up three motorbikes at Portimao where we feel confident to have the chance to grab a very good result. I’m really glad to have Garry with us, on a new track where all the teams have no point of reference. Garry’s big experience will be really helpful to carry on our growth.”
Garry McCoy is also happy to have the opportunity to ride for the Triumph Italia BE1 racing bikes. He likes the bike and he believes the Daytona 675 has a big potential, he said: “after the testing session at Mugello, I think that was we could finish in the top five. The test was useful in order to get a feedback about my physical conditions. No problems at all, except a light pain at one rib when I change direction quickly, but I think I’ll be ok within fifteen days at Portimao.”

BMW could be working on a new 600cc supersport bike called S6RR or S600RR. We’re quite excited, though we’ll have to wait until late 2009 before seeing this 600-675cc three cylinder engine.
The EICMA show in Milan could also reveal BMW’s “maxiscooter” project, said to be a high-performance scooter. It would be shown alongside the new F800R.
According to Faster and Faster, the 600cc supersport bike shows the development of this kind of model across motorcycle brands, including Benelli and MV Agusta, meaning the Triumpg Daytona 675 has finally been an inspiration.

This could be the new bike from the American - Italian MV factory. It’s a nice looking 675 Triple Sportsbike with Brembo brakes, underseat exhaust pipes, trellis frame and swing-arm. Its style sits between an MV, the Triumph Daytona 675 and a Ducati 1098. In my opinion really beautiful.
We are all waiting for some news from MV and we hope they will soon bring a new MV-Agusta to the market. We can’t wait to see the real bike!

During the Global Dealer Conference in Birmingham, Triumph revealed the new model line for 2009.
A new version for the Daytona 675 will arrive soon. One of the most important changes on the bike is the optimalisation in suspension. 3HP more and 3Kg less in weight. A Nissan monoblock bracking system is also included and some redesigned parts like a renewed dashboard.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary for the Bonneville, a limited edition with special colours will be built. The Standard model will run with new wheels, designed to show the “Seventies look” of the model.
Last but not least there will also be a renewed Street Triple R and the Thunderbird. The Thunderbird will be on the market around 2010 and this fine cruiser will run with a 1.600 cc engine!
