Renowned tuning company Radical Ducati has teamed up with Dragon TT designers to create a new bodykit for the current Ducati Superbikes range called Vendetta and - true to their name - what they have come up with is something more than a simple ‘facelift’. In fact, any Ducati 848/1098/1198 that will undergo the Vendetta treatment will end up looking like a completely different beast.
The Vendetta bodykit presented by the two Spanish companies makes the Ducatis look slimmer, more compact and, in a way, more aggressive. It doesn’t require any particular intervention to get fitted on the bike and is available in both carbon fiber and fiberglass. In comparison to Ducati’s standard bodywork, the tank is bigger, the air flow around the bike better (which should translate into better performance as well) and, quite obviously, it is lighter.
More specifically, the Vendetta kit consists of: front fairing with 2 high beam and 2 low beam ellipsoidal lights , windscreen, aluminum front bracket, sidepanels with incorporated blinkers, bellypan, fuel tank, air funnels, single seat with incorporated leds rear light, seat under-tray and silencers adaptors. We can hear Ducati purists’ teeth grinding but… what else could you ask for?

When we took the first cursory glance at these photos, we went bug eyed and immediately thought that Valentino Rossi and Aldo Drudi had teamed up again and decided to go crazy with the palette, instead these Ducati’s 1098 and 1198 were done by highly controversial Danish artist, Kristian von Hornsleth.
What inspired von Hornsleth to call this series “Kill Me Fast” and based on Ducati’s almost impossible to make more stunning superbikes?
“You don’t feel anything as you hit the wall with 320 Km/h”, said the salesman when I asked him if it was dangerous to ride such a bike. Then I wondered why, I myself was so fascinated by this relation between amazing italian design and the superior engine technology. It is precisely this blend of beauty, speed and death, which inspired me to include this ’scuplture’ in my artistic work. The painted lines and forms interacts in a ‘futilistic’ attempt to investigate and challenge the given logic of the Ducatis design.
If you can’t afford one of the ten motorcycles in the series, you could settle for a poster, they come in three sizes, just hit the artist’s website for more info.

This Ducati 1098R will join other big-name manufacturers including BMW and KTM at the 2010 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. Aprilia is still missing from that list, but by the time everyone gets out on the track, we might not even notice. The 1098R will be ridden by Michael Rutter and you can decide whether you like the paint job or not.

See the Ducati Superbike on track behind the scenes, and the Ducati Hypermotard in Milan’s urban landscape. The two videos are both very interesting, and different from each other, and they show how much work goes into producing the finished product promo videos we see. While there’s the excitement of the Superbike on the track, I love the variability of the Hypermotard video and the urban setting. See behind the scenes for the Superbike above and the Hypermotard after the jump.

After the defeat of a Ducati Hypermotard by the Caterham R500, the guys at Autocar have decided to up the ante, and pit a Ducati 1098 against a Nissan GT-R Skyline. The 1098 S has about 150 hp and weighs approximately 180 kg. It competes against the GT-R with 473 hp and a better power to weight ratio. Check out the video for another motorcycle-car track challenge.

This is not a design or reconstruction, but a real mini Ducati 1098 S Tricolore. We like it and would be happy to adopt one… Thanks to Roby for the pics, which you can find on Ottonero.
To celebrate the Superbike 2008 victory and the renewed partnership with sponsor Puma, Ducati has created a new version of the 1098R called the Puma Edition.
The 1098R Puma Edition has been built in only a series of ten motorcycles to be sold on the Japanese market. It has original colours with a white Puma logo on a red background. Each motorcycle is specially marked with a number on the upper stem of the fork, and is sold at a price of 35,000 euros.
As sales started in December, we can only imagine that the Puma Edition Ducati is no longer available. It would have been interesting to see if in Italy it would have had the same success.

The possible heir to the Ducati Multistrada has been spotted in Spain, although the name and look of the bike are still uncertain, especially with this camouflage job.
The rear swing arm and redesigned tail are the notable updates, if we exclude the likelihood of a mixed alluminium, trellis frame. The Motociclismo.es site confirms that the bike will have a four valve engine like the Ducati 1098, powerful enough to rival the BMW R 1200 GS.
This looks to be another step in Ducati’s offroad movements, after indiscretions on the Stradaperta plan.

If your heart is filled with Superbike and Ducati and your budget allows you to buy a real Ducati Superbike, you must know what’s really the difference between the 1098R and Troy’s R version. Troy Bayliss said it’s the best bike he’s ever raced with, the real differences being electronic control of the 200HP. The traction control system enables smooth and consistent power delivery, endless when the throttle is fully open.

“Ducati likes to win every Championship”, said Micha de Vries, Ducati North Europe’s Chief Operating Officer at the EICMA in Milan to Twowheelsblog.
Micha De Vries told about the new vision, the new logo and the new models. He said: “Our vision is to bring Italian design, quality and the best bikes. We want to stand for client friendly”. And more : “We are World Champion in Superbike, European Superstock 1000, second in MotoGP. We bring all our new models in a very short time, I think, if this was also a World Championship we won it also. Our new logo will stand for a heart and the curve of the road or racetrack. It means to be the heart of Ducati.
“It’s a new vision, it started a year ago and today we can see that it works. We will go for it, today with the Ducati Streetfighter and the new Ducati 1198, and with our 848, our new Monster”.

Cristine le Duc and Bernice Sangers are posing in this picture with their bike. Sunday, the girls will ride in the last race of this season, the 500 km from Assen. We’ll give you some updates on their efforts.
