Moto Rapido Ducati is rapido in changing an engine (w/video)

By Toni M.

Rizla Suzuki’s time lapsed videos must have impressed British Superbike EVO team Moto Rapido Ducati enough to have filmed their own, showing how they changed the engine on Scott Smart’s 1198R during last weekend’s Brands Hatch round.

Smart managed a 9th in race 1, a 5th in race 2, and another 5th in race 3, while WFR Honda’s Graeme Gowland came away with three 1st places.

Ducati Searching for Solutions, Troy Bayliss to test the 1198R

By Toni M.

bayliss and fabrizio Monza was full of racing fans, but the paddock also saw high profile personalities like Davide Brivio and Ben Spies for Yamaha, Leo Mercanti and Roberto Colaninno for Piaggio/Aprilia, Regis Laconi (who has retired from racing after his horrific crash last year at Kyalami), Marco Simoncelli who helped do an excellent commentary for Italian network La7, Gabriele del Torchio and Filippo Preziosi and 3 time Superbike World champion Troy Bayliss for Ducati.

Bayliss has been Italy take part in the 26th edition of “Diece Colli ” bicycle race where Bayliss almost won, but a fall on the final laps took him out of contention and in the World Ducati Week at Monza, but the Aussie will also be at the Mugello race track this upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday doing some serious testing for the struggling Ducati Xerox team.

Bayliss will be testing some technical updates and tires on the 1198R and hopefully he can come up with some solutions and ideas to help Michel Fabrizio and a very unrecognizable Noriyuki Haga get out of their current slump.

Ducati 1198R vs Tiger Helicopter

By Toni M.

Ducati vs Tiger

Here at Twowheels we usually don’t talk about the Australia Superbike Championship, but these pics with were too hard to pass up and not share.

These Ducati 1198R Superbikes from Ducati Motologic factory team were just metres away from a hovering and very menacing looking Tiger helicopter and were taken at the Robertson Barracks in Darwin, Australia.

If you’re wondering which machine is faster, the 1198R has a top speed of around 300km/h, while the Tiger’s top speed is in about 270km/h.
