Obviously the 1198 Panigale is the undisputed star at the Ducati’s stand, but there are 2012 verision of the current models as well at the 2011 EICMA. Let’s take this Ducati 848 Corse Special Edition for instance: the first thing that catches the eye is obviously the color scheme, which uses the well-known black, white and red colors of Ducati Corse’s special editions, but there is more to it than just the new livery.
Ducati 848 Corse Special Edition in fact boasts completely new electronics, a nice Öhlins rear shock, upgraded 330mm front brakes, Ducati traction control (DTC), and electronic quick-shifter (DQS), all of which will make it even more effective on the track. Check it out in our photo gallery.

The Ducati Diavel is ignoring the skepticism of Italian Ducati fans and has turned up in some swanky Mercedes stores across the country. None other than Milan’s Vittorio Emanuele gallery is home to the Diavel, which is also housed in the Mercedes-Benz Spot in Rome’s Piazza San Silvestro.
The Ducati Corse and Ducati 46 accessories will also debut today alongside the AMG Selection line and while the usual merchandising is on show, seeing a Mercedes SLS and a Ducati in the same spot does produce a certain effect. Check it out in the pics.
We knew that Nicky Hayden was at Ducati’s headquarters 10 days ago (at the same time that Rossi’s pit crew was learning all about the GP11) because he twitted, “Just left the factory in bologna watched the fellas build me some brand new weapons and do a lil home work. off for a run…. ciao a tutti”
What we didn’t know that Ducati decided to follow Yamaha Motor USA example, and make up a sweet little video starring Nicky Hayden, who thoroughly enjoys himself in a deserted factory and the Ducati museum (which is also great chance to get a glimpse inside of Borgo Panigale, if you’ve never been there).
Stick around for the end of the video because there’s a message for everyone, even if Nicky still has to get the basics of the Italian language, and mixes up auguri with Amadeus.
As the Rossi to Ducati rumours really take off, the Italian press is reporting that Ducati will cut its SBK team to acquire the world champion Italian rider. If Valentino Rossi moves to Ducati it will be under a Marlboro contract and to finance the move, a total re-organisation of Ducati Corse would take place in which the superbike team would be scratched.
With money tight and motorsports looking to cut costs, Ducati’s move to kill its historic superbike team could be motivated by other than its desire to purchase Rossi, although the move provides a neat excuse. If Ducati were to take this drastic decision, it would also find itself with a whole lot of new money in its coffers - something other teams either can’t or would be unwilling to do.
The rumours of Rossi to Ducati are more persistant every day and if the Italian rider is looking for big money somewhere, he won’t find it at Yamaha despite his repeated desire to remain with the team and finish his career there. As reported by MotoMatters, Rossi was looking at a salary cut which he was apparently comfortable with, until that cut meant financing Jorge Lorenzo’s new contract.

Ducati took the 1198 S Corse Special Edition, Multistrada 1200, and Hypermotard Evo to the Motor Bike Expo held in Verona, Italy, over the weekend. While the models had already been seen at EICMA 2009, they were on display again for the joy of the lucky Italian public. The 1198 S Corse Special Edition shows off a new livery, and is characterised by an aluminium racing tank, Ducati Corse logo, racing kit and Ducati’s traction control.
The full Ducati 2010 range was on show at the Motor Bike Expo, including Ducati accessories and clothing. Despite the lovely 1198S, all eyes are on the Multistrada 1200 to see how it pulls off its mix of sport with touring and off-road. Other bikes to check out were the Hypermotard 796, the Hypermotard 1100EVO and the brand new Hypermotard 1100Evo SP.

After Valentino Rossi’s interview with BBC2 about going to Ducati and subsequently saying that his words were wrongly interpreted, now Ducati has come out with their own statements.
Filippo Preziosi, Ducati’s General Director and genius behind the Desmosedici, which we know that Rossi highly appreciates the Italian engineer and that the sentiment is reciprocated by Preziosi.
Interviewed by the Gazzetta dello Sport during the Valencia tests, Filippo Preziosi, said that it was too early to think about 2010 (when Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Rossi’s contracts are all up) but admitted that he wouldn’t mind having Rossi in his team.
“I think that it’s premature to starting talking about this, because Valentino has already said that he won’t decide his future until June 2010.”
If I would like to have him with us? I think that any manufacturer would like to have on their bike a rider that’s the 9 times World Champion. I’m not saying something that no one knows, he’s very strong. I think that our bike goes well with all the riders and it’s not that object that used to frighten riders. Stoner went very well all weekend and in the tests with this new bike. Hayden was fifth in the race and in the tests.”

With a video that’s a walk down memory lane in Ducati racing history, the iconic company has launched their new Ducati Corse logo. Last year Ducati changed their logo and this year it’s their racing department’s turn.
It’s got the same shape as Ducati, but they’ve added carbon fibre colouring and a strip with the colours of the Italian flag.
After the jump you can check out last year’s video logo presentation.
