Yamaha USA has released part two of their One on One series with Ben Spies and Eddie Lawson. In this video both champions come across much more relaxed, especially Spies. Listen to these guys talk about competitivenss, fans and rider obligations and winning.

Valentino Rossi, Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey and Kenny Roberts, 18 GP world titles between them, completed a series of Superkart demonstration laps at the spectacular Laguna Seca circuit.

It was supposed to be part of those events for the Mazda Speedway that leads into this weekend’s GP race, but it turned out to be a mini race with the Italian rider coming out on top over the Americans by 15 seconds on a one lap sprint.

The Grand Marshal was Colin Edwards.

Four Yamaha World Champions with 17 world titles between them, are going to get together for a SuperKart Exhibition, one of the events organized at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the U.S. Red Bull MotoGP weekend July 3rd -5th 2009.

Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, Kenny Roberts Sr. and Valentino Rossi who will all be on TZ250 race karts owned by Rainey and Lawson and prepped by Rainey’s father Sandy.

Rossi, Rainey and Lawson all have kart racing experience, infact Lawson won the Superstars of Superkarts race at Laguna Seca last year. Lawson’s fastest lap in the race was a 1:23.924, while Casey Stoner ‘s fast lap in the epic 2008 Laguna Seca race was 1:21.488.

This splendid photo takes in two great champions from times gone by in the two-wheel world. This start of the AMA Superbike championship, to which World Superbike owes a lot, sees Eddie Lawson on the Kawasaki 60 and Freddie Spencer on the Honda 43 on the track.

That’s seven world titles shared between the two of them, and in this pic, the start of what looks like another battle. Thanks to antosette for the tip.

Those were the days! Here is a video of the 1987 Gran Prix of Argentina in the 500 class, with three riders on the track that have made history in this sport: Eddie Lawson, another great American in Randy Mamola and Australia’s Wayne Gardner.

Take a look at the video from times gone by to see a mix-up in the start, and Mamola having a pee right in front of the crowd (for which he was subsequently fined, apparently). A bit of nostalgia on Thursday for you.

He may be a retired 4 times motorcycle world champion, but Eddie Lawson is still unbeatable even on four wheels. During the Super Stars of Superkarts event at Laguna Seca Raceway.

Lawson racing a Yamaha superkart started on pole and then led every single lap and went on to beat Sam Zavaglia.

This the third time Lawson has won the event that runs in conjunction with the famed American Le Mans series.
