Suzuki confirmed that the GSX-R 1000 model year 2012 will be unveiled at the upcoming EICMA in Milan on November the 8th. The bike is the latest addition to a completely renewed Superbike segment as new models from BMW, Honda and Yamaha have already been introduced. As usual, the GSX-R line will include the classic 600cc, 750cc and 1000cc versions, all of which will exploit the most advanced solutions that Suzuki developed in its MotoGp and WSB experience.
In an aesthetic comparison with its predecessor, the new Gixer now sports a single muffler 4-2-1 exhaust system and the usual white/blue and black color schemes, with the rims now outlined by a thin red stripe. Tokico braking system has been replaced with new Brembo Monobloc brakes, while the instrument panel is also brand new.
The bike went through a slimming threatment - with pistons that are now 11% lighter - resulting in a 2kg weight loss. Suspension and compression ratio have been modified in order to improve the bike performance and torque curve at low and mid revs. Everything about this bike is obviously pretty straightforward, as you would expect from a motorcycle competing in the World Superbike Championship, but in the comparison with its direct competitors there is actually something missing: the traction-control.

The 69th edition of the EICMA show looks like it will be all about maxi-scooters, with BMW, Honda and Aprilia who are going to debut concepts and models, with the addition of Yamaha.
The Iwata manufacturer will be revealing the 2012 TMax, which according to some rumors will getting a bigger displacement engine from 500cc to 800cc and that could be what the teaser video hints at (after the jump) with the line “The TMAX becomes more TMAX than ever before.”
The maxi scooter which is a best seller in Italy, also gets some sort of makeover as you can tell from the headlights. Full details will be revealed November 7th.
In the past, loads of rumors were circulating about a new Ducati naked bike and finally, thanks to these spy shots, we can confirm the existence of the Streetfighter 848. We don’t believe the sighting happened by chance: it’s probably part of a commercial strategy since insiders are saying that this less powerful streetfighter will officially debut at the 2011 Eicma in November.
These shots have been taken just outside Ducati’s HQ in Bologna, Italy, and the first thing we’ve noticed is that the maker has decided to opt for a yellow/mustard colour - not listed in the current SF catalogue - which in the past has always been the tint of choice for smaller sports bikes such as the Ducati 749 and 748.
We’ve also spotted some differences with the current production line such as the swingarm’s screw-nuts - the 1098/SF has six screws while the 848 has one less - and the front fork. In the 848 in fact this bronze- tinted unit differs quite a lot from the S version and it rather reminds us the one mounted on the latest Monster 1100 EVO. As we thought the aesthetic approach hasn’t varied much but the mechanical adjustments are what makes the real difference.
True to their word Triumph has released a second video regarding their two upcoming models of the 2011 Triumph Adventure. The video which was supposed to give us some more info about the engine, but the voice over only tells us that it’s a three cylinder, that it packs plenty of punch, has got a lot of torque and that’s about all the English manufacturer is willing to reveal at the moment, just enough to tease us and wanting to know more.
The next video hype about the chassis that is scheduled for September 1st and the official debut of these two bikes will be at the EICMA Show in Milan this November.

We had already reported on an Asian EICMA event a while back, and now dates have been released for the 2010 EICMA China motorcycle show. It will take place from June 11 to 13 in Beijing and will include both local and international manufacturers, with some of the big names in European and Japanese motorcycle brands appearing.
China is the biggest consumer and manufacturer of motorcycles in the world, which is not such a surprising statistic; and this EICMA China event should prove to be an interesting show, taking motorcycling from Europe and giving it an Asian stage for a while. We don’t expect any major product news but will be keeping our eyes open for anything new coming out of the show.
We can hardly wait for next month’s EICMA Show in Milan to see the uveiling of some some of those new bikes that we have seen spyshots of, but while we’re waiting, why not check out what the other side of the world is up to, and potentially the biggest motorcycle market of the world, China.
Here’s motocycle.com video of the China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition, CIMA Motor with 333 exhibitors, 27 motorcycle companies and nearly 1,000 motorcycles on display.

The fact that the 8 times World Champion, Valentino Rossi is a virtual gold mine when it comes to endorsements is a well known, besides all his VR46 tagged merchandise that includes T-shirt, caps, cell phone covers and lately even children bedroom furniture with the Berloni company, that will be launched in October, the Italian has now designed and endorsed a range of bicycles for Cicli Adriatica, a national and global manufacturer of bicycles since 1946 and based in Pesaro.
The collection is naturally called VR46 and includes three models specifically for children and has Rossi’s racing symbols, including his favourite colors, the moon and sun that adorn his helmets and leathers and his iconic racing number. The brand VR46 will also be signing a racing bike and a mountain bike.
The new line VR46 will be presented in Milan during EICMA that will start on 18th until 21st September 2009, and you can see the VR46 at Stand M43, Hall 9.

After the cancellation of the Paris motorcycle show Mondial, and the fact that it’s the off year for Intermot, Milan’s EICMA show is the only motorcycle world event for this year, though Honda and Yamaha will be missing from the line-up.
The two companies have stated that due to the economic downturn, culprit of the many crises the auto industry, finance industry, motorcycle industry etc etc are having, they will not be present this year. It’s a blow for the world of two wheels when the two biggest manufacturers won’t attend the only motorcycle show of the year.
Aside from that, the other big name companies are so far planning to attend, including Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Harley Davidson, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, Kymco, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta, Piaggio, Suzuki and Triumph among others.
The Birmingham International Bike Show for 2008 is taking place until December 7 and we suggest you check out some of the models. The NEC show has some lovely girls, as we’ve already seen (second gallery coming up), and you can see some of the models that already debuted at Intermot and Eicma in Milan.
In this photo, published by MC24 is the Honda DN-01 transformed into a trike. We’re a little lost for words…what do you think?
Keeway presented at the recent Eicma show in Milan its Goccia scooter, a new high wheel scooter with a 50cc engine designed for young people.
It was developed at the Keeway Research and Development centre in Pesaro, and has a single-cylinder, two-stroke, air-cooled engine. The braking system includes a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.
Riding position is comfortable, with a large and flat platform good for carrying bags and backpacks. The wheels measure 16 inches, and height from the ground is 1110mm, with a large and comfortable seat. The Keeway Goccia is available in metallic white, metallic black and blue silk.
Whoever had the opportunity to take a look around the Eicma show in Milan may have noticed the wild colours of the “Indian vespa” - the LML Star Deluxe scooter produced in 125cc and 150cc versions.
The Indian scooters look a lot like the legendary Vespa PX, in fact they’re virtually a clone, though these modern models are Euro 3 compliant. The Star Deluxe is built from alluminium and is available both with pedal and electronic ignition.
The Star Deluxe has an automatic mix system, with an eight litre tank. The 125cc version has 6.5hp and the 150cc, 7.7hp. The scooter has a maximum speed of about 90 km/hr and weighs 104kg.
The ten-inch wheels have a front disc brake and the classic rear drum brake, both pedal controlled. An interesting aside is if you’re looking for news of this vespa on the internet you’ll find it mostly in Italian, showing the market the Indians hope to capture with a copycat scooter.
Twowheels presented the launch of NCR’s Mike Hailwood TT bike that was shown at the EICMA, but we thought we’d go back in time and show you how riders in Mike’s period enjoyed racing. Look at the video and imagine the way these heroes rode in a time that’s not that far away. These days we discuss corner speed and have electronics to control the bikes at incredible top speeds and brakes like never before. In the video is “Mike the bike Hailwood” in Belgian’s Francorchamps.
